If anyone else that was at the meeting cares to get the ball rolling, go ahead and type it up as best you can, if no one gets to it before Friday I will have time then to get it laid out, but I type pretty slow. wink.gif

I'll wait. You have the best handle on it I think.

very curious to hear this. pop.gif

I'll give it a shot, as I remember it.

1) Blind Bidding opens at the first kickoff of the week.
2) Blind bids are in real money with a $100 cap for the season. Once you hit that cap, you can no longer participate in blind bids.
3) Bids are processed Tuesday morning. Tied bids go to the worst team. Your cap only gets charged for the bids you win.
4) FCFS starts immediately following, with all FCFS waivers costing $5, but do not come out of the $100 cap. Thus, if you spend your cap, you can still participate in FCFS waivers for the rest of the season.
5) FCFS waivers end at the kickoff of the first game of the week.
6) Blind bid money goes to the week's high score winner, just like the FCFS waiver fees.

Note: We talked about FCFS waivers only ending for Thursday/Friday/Sat game players when that kickoff happened. All other players were still available until the first kickoff on Sunday. Not sure if this is doable at MFL or if it is part of this proposal. Also not sure if MFL can support the FCFS waivers not coming out of the cap. Guess we can adjust that as we go, letting MFL consider them free and just keep track of them as we've been doing.

If anyone else remembers it differently, please post it.

NOTE: This is being discussed for next season (09-10) as this season is set for FCFS 24/7.

The cap is so that no one gets in deeper than they should and we have people after us for bankrupting an owenr. If I blind bid 50 or 60 bucks for every player I want...pretty soon someone is going to start competing and end up moving to a 1st street half-way house. I have no desire to be confronted by an irate wife/gf/bf or whatever because there won't be a Christmas. biggrin.gif

Does your homer league charge real money for transactions?

yep $5 per on anyone not bid on during blind bids. the $$$ however is not paid weekly but added to the totals @ the end of the year. the top payouts are a set ammount and a % of the waiver wire kitty. It get's pretty big.

Are the blind bids real money? That was my question. Sorry.

yes

And how deep do people get into the wallet?

I think a cap is something that we will need to require. Even if this is a money league there is no reason for someone to get hurt.

some people go deep but usually not past $100. what we do not have is a waiver priority. Everyone submits requests to a dedicated email addy then if there's two or more people requesting the same player.... that's when the bidding starts...... highest bid gets him. all waiver moves are $5 otherwise.

We also discussed a similar format with FAKE money. Something like $1000 per season, we may or may not add 100 to your total every week to replinish, and may or may not charge $10 per transaction in blind bidding and then $5 per transaction on FCFS.

For the record, I am VERY MUCH AGAINST blind bidding with REAL money. This is my favorite Huddle league by far, but I may have to re-think being here if we adopted the real money bidding.

I don't recall the FCFS being stopped for the non-Sunday games. But you could have the same type of thing where someone has to be picked up before the first game of the day to be playable.

sounds like we got some talk'in / vote'in to do prior to the start of the draft.

This proposal wouldn't go into effect until the 2009 season. So it would be in our best interests to spend some time getting it right. We have plenty of time to fine tune it and would suggest that we don't over do on the discussion at the draft. In fact... maybe we have finally found something that will get everyone together during the season (or at the spring meeting). smile.gif

I will say that for me a cap is very important.
