Yes, I realize that August 17th was agreed upon by the majority of the league. But it will be tough for both me and Hat Trick. I mean, we'll suck it up if need be, but here's an alternative that I wanted to pitch...

The only person with a conflict on Saturday, August 30th is Piratesownninjas ("PON"). PON is booked from 1pm (central) to about 7pm that day. But that means we could draft in the am, or in the late evening. Our drafts typically take 3-4 hours, based on prior years. So we could get started at 9am (central) and probably wrap up by 1pm. Or we could start at 7pm and wrap up by 11pm. Its a Saturday, so hopefully no one has to work that day, or the following sunday.

Bottom line, an August 30th draft date would allow us to get to see more of the preseason, and give us more time before we had to make our keeper decisions.

Yeah or nay?

I'm in for the 30th... It would be advantageous to take a look at TC and a few preseason games before making keeper picks.

If the 17th is the favorite I can be available for that day as well.

I'm fine with it as long as everyone knows that I'll be at a Jiu Jitsu tourney from 1pm to 6 or 7 pm central. I'll start as early as you guys want to get this thing rolling.

That'll work for me, and I actually prefer it. It's always good to draft as late in the pre-season as possible.

I always make such bone-headed mistakes when I draft drunk. Just sloppy, inattentive decisions.
