Since you aksed nicely.

As an IDP noob, you fell into the same trap most IDP noobs fall into, name recognition. On offense you hear the guys name it's because he's gaining yards, making catches or whatever, scoring you points basically. On defense commentators talk about how 'disruptive' or 'explosive' a guy is. There are no points for explosions.

I fell into this with my first IDP draft too, so don't feel alone. I thought I
STOLE Chris Hovan. Alas, there are also no points for face painting, or being an arrogant arse.

Here you got hit with Merriman, he's a big name, not a big FF producer in this scoring system. You
HAVE to start him every week, when you sit him he scores 25-30 points, trust me I know. (I owned Merriman in Fusion, note the past tense. In full disclosure I do still own him in GMX) but it was a little early for him there, not bad though he may very well win you a game with a huge week or two (OAK twice

)
Then you fell into another IDP trap....you took a DT too high. Knowing when a position will start is tough, IDP newbs will be best to wait and see. The next DT went four rounds later, and IMO you didn't get the top DT, not even a top 10 DT to be honest. Learn from this pick.

Now pick by pick....
1.08 Moss, Randy NEP WR
A little early perhaps for a WR, but here it's players choice, I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same.
2.09 Bush, Reggie NOS RB
I think you got a steal here.
3.08 Jennings, Greg GBP WR
Too many question marks for my taste, but I can’t say it was a bad pick, just a matter of opinion.
4.09 Stewart, Jonathan CAR RB
Too early for a rookie RB who already has an injury, even if he’s healthy he may split time.
5.08 Merriman, Shawne SDC LB
Right position, wrong player, Lofa or Witherspoon would’ve been better choices.
6.09 Manning, Eli NYG QB
Everyone needs a QB, not too sure Eli will be a FF Super Bowl winner, but he should be serviceable, maybe a tad early.
7.08 Miller, Heath PIT TE
TEs score well here, I took what IMO are two of the top three, hoping people would have to scramble to get serviceable ones later, Miller should be above average.
8.09 Forte, Matt CHI RB
Three RBs, two of them are rookies, in the first eight rounds. We can only start two maximum, and only have to start one.
9.08 Crayton, Patrick DAL WR
Rounding out your WR corp, could be a nice pick, could be a tease, you’re counting on him as a starter.
10.09 Ngata, Haloti BAL DT
Sorry buddy, chalk it up to lurnin’.
11.08 Greenway, Chad MIN LB
Just when I think you can’t do any worse with IDP, you go and totally redeem yourself. Love this pick, but I am a dislocated Minn Homer.
12.09 Freeney, Dwight IND DE
Pretty good pick here, injury concerns, but a solid FF producer. (and a big name

)
13.08 Jones, Pacman DAL CB
If he stays out of trouble, you’ve done well for yourself, if he win the returner job too, you just got a steal, if he goes and ‘makes it rain’ in Dallas it’s a blown pick, It’s an all or nothing pick.
14.09 Huff, Michael OAK S
Good pick here, should do well, DBs are hard to forecast.
15.08 Mitchell, Kawika BUF LB
I like this pick too, WLB for a team playing the Tampa-2, what’s not too like?
16.09 Slaton, Steve HOU RB
Really, another rookie RB, not to mention you’re stacking a position before you fill your lineup.
17.08 Jackson, DeSean PHI WR
Did you just do a rookie draft for a dynasty league? A rookie WR, an EAGLE rookie WR, like I said there are no points for explosions (bust)
18.09 Dumervil, Elvis DEN DE
I like his upside, but this league is very tackle heavy, and doesn’t reward for big plays, but I was eyeing him with my next pick.
19.08 Thomas, Adalius NEP LB
Another good value LB pick. You’re a quick learner.
20.09 Clark, Desmond CHI TE
Back up TE? You still have starters to get in your secondary.
21.08 Bly, Dre' DEN CB
You may have fallen into the name game a bit here, Bodden will score well, Bly not as much.
22.09 Rogers, Shaun CLE DT
Name game again I fear, he hasn’t been a force for a while, but the pickens are getting a little slim
I tried to be nice.
