All my leagues base divisions off the draft order, do we do the same here. If not, I move to take a vote to do so.
I have set up a poll on the frontpage of the MFL Site , please vote.
Conference 1
1-2-3-4 Division 1
5-6-7-8 Division 2
Conference 2
9-10-11-12 Division 3
13-14-15-16 Division 4
This allows each division owner to play teams that they draft near 2 tiimes, so a more level playing field in achieved.
13 Week regular season - *Each team plays divisional opponents twice, other conference opponents once, and three games against non-conference opponents .

I set up a poll but didn't ask for the permission of the commish.
I really didn't know I needed too, as MFL allows for any owner to submit a poll.
If you wish to have me take it down , I will, but I would think that any owner could submit a poll ?

Dice roll has been started--nothing is going to change this year concerning team or division placement--poll to your hearts content after the draft--this league uses the dice roll to determine your division slot. Top four are in one division-second four will be in next and so on----

Cool,
Looks like we already do it the same way I was suggesting to do so, so my question is answered. I will delete my poll.
Thanks

Well, I just reviewed the 2007 divisions and draft , and they were not set up in the manner you suggested.
Here are the only rules this league has...........The only reference is that the teams will be assigned randomly before the start of the 2008 NFL season. We should clarify what random means, based on dice roll ? Based on 2007 final standings? Based on previous years divsion alignment ?
16 teams, 4 divisions of 4, to be assigned randomly before the start of the 2008 NFL season.
$100 per team per season. An owner can only own one (1) franchise in the league. If an owner is found to be in control of more than one franchise, both franchises will be frozen and replacement owners will be sought. No collusion of multiple owners will be tolerated. NO refunds of league dues will be given out if an owner is removed for integrity issues or is a threat to the league's best interest.
Dice roll will determine draft order...highest roll gets #1 selection, etc.
Redraft Each Season (no keepers)-serpentine draft (1-16, 16-1, etc) all rounds.
Draft starts on or about August 10st
Payouts:
1st=$700
2nd=$275
3rd=$150
4th=$100
Hi points weeks 1-13=$300 (this is total points for those weeks, not a weekly hi-score payout)
MFL cost=$75
Lineups:
1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1PK, 1D/ST, 2 Flex (RB, WR, or TE)
Lineups due each week by kickoff of players game
Waivers -- TBD
Trade deadline kickoff of week 11 games
Waivers begin week 1 kickoff and end at kickoff of week 13.
Commish reserves right to reverse trades if the integrity of the league is jeapordized (will put questionable trades to league vote -10 owners votes needed to overturn) If commish is involved in a trade, co-commish, The Flush, will oversee. If commish and co-commish are both involved in a trade, theohiostate will oversee.
Franchise Owner activity is mandatory! If a franchise fails to submit a lineup for the week, last weeks lineups will be used (regardless of Bye-weeks, injuires, etc.). This lineup will include a penalty of that owner's current weeks' highest scoring player's points being deducted from their total. If an owner does not submit a lineup for 2 consecutive weeks, and cannot provide adequate explaination (flood, hurricane, etc.), that franchise will be considered abandoned, and recaptured by the league and a replacement owner sought. No refund will be given to the absent owner.
Performance scoring:
6 pts all rush/receiving TDs, 4 pts all passing TDs
.1 pt per rush/receiving yards, .04 pts per passing yards
1 pt per reception
2 pts all 2-pt conversions(rush, receiving, passing)
Kicker and D/ST scoring see "reports", then "league scoring" from league homepage
Regular season will be 13 weeks, playoffs will be from weeks 14-16.
6 teams will make the playoffs: The top 2 division winners (by record, then total pts) will get the 1st round (week14) BYE. The other 4 teams will be the other 2 division winners, and 2 wildcards with the next best records (record then total pts) regardless of divison or conference.
Any rule changes will be made in the off-season, and will require a 10-owner majority to change a rule
***Just getting started right now...all suggestions welcome (however, this WILL be a re-draft league, w/ no keepers...all leagues seem to be going keeper/dynasty nowadays, and the sole purpose of this league will be to test our draft ability, foresight, fantasy football acumen, and LUCK from year to year)
The first year it was based on dice roll like you suggested, last year was kind of thrown together and we just didn't change divisions, although we should have, I like that the divisions are based on where you draft.

Yep, rule is a tad vague...we did it via draft position in year #1, and didn't change it last year to keep the rivalries alive.
I agree 100%, it should change every year based on the roll of the dice.
Some items regarding tiebreakers are also not address well...we should look at those this week and next, prior to the season starting.
Buffalo Wings and wolfden1 wrote the existing rules rather quickly for our first year, and they were never further amended. Of course, they are both no longer in the league.
We should make sure every item makes sense for the upcoming season.

Hey guys - actually Wolfden wrote the rules. Last year, with him kind of being an absentee commish, I did my best to try to keep things running. At least in the beginning. I do think that it was supposed to be re-aligned each year. Just didn't happen last year.
