Last year we started naming homers on 8/6, finished on 8/19, and started drafting on 8/20. We're not behind schedule yet, but we're getting there quick.

Al, do you need some help getting this thing going this year? I'd try to help any way I could and I know others would too if needed.

Well i sent out an email awile back and got quite a few non-returning responses. I pm'd Rob before i left for vacation and havn't heard from him yet. I am back and would like to see us continue but we need quite a few teams. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will formulate a league wide email by tomorrow and get a feel for what we have and start the process rolling. My thoughts are that if we can't fill the league we will have some sort of final contest (maybe total points) with all the willing teams this year and then see where we stand. There are quite a few teams pre-paid and i've even rcvd payment from 1 other owner so i'm sure we can have some sort of league this year. Might actually be pretty interesting with some extra studs in the mix.

Well it looks like we should be able to make this work. We are now down to only 5 teams and i have commitments from 2 owners who will take whoever is leftover. Thanks General and nuke'em So we really only need 3 teams filled.

According to this The Panthers pick 5th. In the MFL it has them at 8.

Well the recruiting was moving pretty well for a few days but stalled pretty hard by thursday. We still need 3 more owners and i havn't heard from about 3 or 4 others. Also due to hectic job commitments (military) Rob would like us to find another owner for the Giants but he will stay if we can't fill it. I've moved the draft to next Friday. I know that isn't much time but if everyone stays on top of it, it can be done. It is only 9 rounds. I sent PM's to everyone i havn't heard from asking for Homer picks and dues. I'm going to ask that you hold off on dues again just in case this doesn't get off the ground.
There are some other possibilities if the interested owners want to have a league this year.
1. We could just have a total points league without the head to head
2. I could get proxy drafters to fill out the unclaimed teams and just start the BPA each week.
3. We could let the site draft BPA for vacant teams.
4. I know this is kinda out there but i came up with the idea of every owner having 2 teams. (Right now it looks as though we have just a littler over 50% very active owners) Each owner could run 2 teams, with worst draft pos picking their 2nd team 1st and so on. More details later if we decide to go this route.

If we can't fill and choose one of the options above it would be for this year ONLY. We would then revisit the league status for next year and determine if we continue or not.

Im good with whatever we decide. Total points would be fine with me, but most likely a bit unfair since thetop half of teams have a pretty big advantage getting the better players.

I think i have a Bears owner, i just need to twist his arm a little more and General Itals is willing to take the leftovers, so we really only need 2 owners. If this is how it ends up, i think i'll just get someone to draft for the 2 orphan teams. We can form a small comittee to set their lineups each week and ensure they have a full/active roster.
