First 2 picks, no suprises.

Just an FYI, I'm participating in an auction draft tonight so I'll be away from the computer but check to see if my turn has come up before i turn in for the night.

I am happy with Rice. Living in NJ I got to see him play a lot at Rutgers. I think he could pay off down the line especially with Mcgahee being a little shaky

I'm surprised Mendenhall fell so far.

Mcgahee just had his knee scoped too I think.

Although it is a weak year for QB prospects I didn't expect to see Matt Ryan fall to me at #8.

I am happy with Torain in the 2nd rd. In a dynasty league I am not worried about the elbow.

Went for CJ when i saw the video of his run in the forum. I like fast guys biggrin.gif

I was completely surprised to see Perch take Felix Jones in the first.

Will the RB drafted into Dallas be any better than the complete RB bust on his team drafted from Austin? w00t.gif

I like Deshawn Jackson and Flacco. I was mulling Flacco with my 2nd pick

QB position has killed me every year in this league(Culpepper inaugural draft) so I'm hopeful that one of the two I drafted will do well.

I probably should have addressed qb too. Last year I dropped Campbell accidently and it really screwed me

Got me some TEs.

The clock ran out on bushwacked, that sucks. Does the timer run all night?

Yes.

Bummer, didn't even know we had a timer, let alone one that runs on 12 hours around the clock. Is it even in the rules? unsure.gif

I'm fairly sure it was stated. Tell me who you want and I'll add him to your roster.

sorry to hold up the draft. this is the only league im in that does 5 rounds. I thought it was 4. That's why in the 4th round i was like "good draft everyone".

The rookie/FA draft has always been 5 rounds.
seminoles
1st round - I went with Forte hoping that he will produce in his rookie season as oppose to waiting on some other guys
2nd round - I am also hoping that Limas Sweed will produce in his rookie season to help me out
3rd round - I need more starters at the QB position besides McNabb, so having Pennington and Henne will at least be able to help me during bye weeks or minor injuries
4th round - I got Kyle Boller for the same reason as above
5th round - I think it will take a few years for Miami to drastically improve. On that note, Parmele may have some opportunities in the next year or so to prove himself since Brown always seems to get hurt and you really can't put many eggs in the Ricky Williams basket.

I think we've had 3, including this one.

I take it some of you QB whores are looking to use your excessive depth as trade bait?

I think it's 2 cuz I have had the first pick in both I believe.

I just want to let it be known that the timer ran out on me in 2007 during the rookie draft and I was not given a chance to repick. I feel that if we have timer for a reason, we should use it.

We should clarify that in the rules. I was using the NFL draft rules, where the skipped team can submit their pick at any point after the timer runs out.

While I vaguely remember a timer being put in place last year, it definitely doesn't seem to be mentioned in the rules. I'm not a fan of using a 12-hour timer for a 5-round draft in early to mid-August.
leper65
Yeah, 12 hours is way too much time. 4 hrs is much more like it, pre-drafting isn't all that difficult.

If I remember last year correctly, there was never a request to have that pick filled, which surprised me. That may have been partially my fault for not saying anything, but my thinking on skipped picks was the same last year as it is this year.

laughing.gif I was promoting the opposite thought....in my opinion you either do a slow draft or a live draft; a 24 hour timer turned off on the weekends seems more appropriate to me. We finished a 5 round draft in a few days; weeks before the NFL season started; not sure I see the need to expedite the thing. If anything, we could/should draft shortly after the NFL draft.

Just stirring the pot. Live would good, but like you say it's only 5 rounds so a longer time limit wouldn't hurt.
