Here's the place to let 'er rip fellas. Discuss picks made, thoughts behind them, feelings on others' picks, etc. The one rule is please no name dropping on those players that haven't been drafted yet. Thanks and let's have some fun. smile.gif

Glad to get Brian Westbrook at the #3 slot. If you look at our scoring system he actually outpointed LT last year thanks to all the receptions that he gets each week. Hard to pass up someone that should be at least good for 15-20 points on a down week.

So far the draft is going as expected, but my guess is that Irish is trying to figure out what to do at 1.07, as that was the slot I had for a draft that started last Tuesday and the best names are already often the board as far as RBs and he is looking at two or three players for his selection.... Good luck, I know what you are going through.

NOTE: I will NOT have MFL access during the day due to issues with filters at work. I do have the ability to check on the draft status via the Huddle MB, so if you guys would be nice enough post the selections avery 3 - 6 picks, like I did for the Round 1 thread I started, it would be much appreciated. I want to do my part to keep things moving now that we have started and this would help me a much. thmbup.gif

You're welcome. I just couldn't stomach the risk/bad feeling I had about him to take him at 1.04. I've already come to terms with it if he does end up blowing up this season, though. No regrets!

Well so much for my gameplan. Was expecting to take a WR @ 2.09 but with Bush still on the board I had to pull the trigger. Is there something about him or his knees that everyone else but me knows about? shrug.gif

Nope I think people are just more sour on him because of last year and him not being able to tote the full load. He's no doubt got some solid value in PPR leagues however.

If Irish had taken Fitzgerald at 2.06, Bush would have been my pick at 2.07 and I would have considered it a very good value pick.

I'm no fan of the guy as a player, but a ppr league is right in his wheelhouse for what he can do on the field.

Before PSU finishes eating, is anyone interested in trading up to 3.04?

EDIT:
Trade made --
Martians give up 3.07, 4.06, 8.06

I was just noticing your stacked squad. Nicely done!!
Timmypg
Moss, Randy NEP WR
Brady, Tom NEP QB
McFadden, Darren OAK RB
Marshall, Brandon DEN WR

We're very happy with our team too.

P.S. Not meaning to bust balls but 2.11 23. Silver Surfers Stewart, Jonathan CAR RB??? Am I missing something here?
Bronco Billy
Sorry guys. I didn't expect my 4th rounder to come up so soon. I'll try to watch a bit more carefully.

Oh, and as long as we're playing show me yours, I'll show you mine...

Steven Jackson
Edgerrin James
Larry Fitzgerald
Plaxico Burress
Torry Holt
Jason Witten

I think I can dredge some mileage out of these guys so far...

Post trade: Hated breaking up that killer WR corps, but I think this team will end up deeper because of the trade

i got a hunch unsure.gif
Actually i like his upside and think he'll be an everyday back. Hopefully the toe is ok. I could have taken Mcgahee or Edge, but they both scare me a bit.

True you could've taken Edge or McGahee. However, I think what Timmy's trying to say is that if you felt so strongly about him you probably could've taken him a round later or more and still had gotten one of the 2 RBs you mentioned or a player at another position. Many times it's not so much about how you feel about a player versus what the actual value of the player is on the whole. So you may have a hunch about him but overall he's not going for anothewr round or 2 and you could've taken better advantage of that.

I am thinking of trading down from 7.04 - send me your offers.

True, a healthy Mcgahee may be a more popular pick but ive had him for a couple years in a keeper league, only to kill me. Edge is intriguing, but his YPC is getting lower each year, plus he hit the 30 age which i try to avoid if possible.
Rember, leagues can also won by taking chances. I've done this for years with higher amounts of success over failure, there really is no way of knowing what will happen.

I still like my pick wink.gif

And in the end, that is truly all that matters.

My point exactly. When i saw the Knights take Forte and Mcfadden (very early IMO) i thought to myself of the few other starters he passed over, but everyone draws their own conclusion. I'm a hugh Bears fan and i wouldn't touch Forte that early, but who am i to say? wink.gif
Timmypg
At that point we were just trying to fill our RB2 spot. Our RB's could be our weakness but hopefully Brady, Moss, Marshall (after week 3), & Gates can save us.

Johnson wasn't a bad pick but again I guess it's all a matter of perspective/opinion but I thought there were a couple other RBs I would've taken but they're all in the same neighborhood.

I don't doubt that at all.... It was the same thing I was debating with my 5.06 pick when I selected Roddy White. I am just glad that I have him on my team.
