For the noobs.....

QUOTE
The drafts will occur from Sat. through Sat. and will be an open draft, (i.e. no specific time limit on making picks, but all owners will ensure they will make their picks in a timely fashion). To insure this, all participants will make use of the MFL pre-select option, so as not to hold up the draft

So, we are opening the drafting at a time of our choosing. The main issue is that there is no timer, but out of respect for your leaguemates please do your best to preselect when you will be away for a significant period.

Happy drafting!

FYI, I did set up a 24 hour timer just so that the live draft room would open. The timer is suspended for all but the time between noon and 1 PM, so it should never expire. Please do not draft in the live draft room! emails do not go out alerting leaguemates that picks have been made when the pick is made in the live draft room.

sweet- happy drafting.

My first of the season biggrin.gif
Whiskey Pimp
My first as well. I have 2 drafts and 1 auction and somehow I land the #11 pick in both drafts. At least I have AP as a 4th round keeper in my local biggrin.gif

Thanks. I was going to mention that as it helps when I get the e-mails.

I rule, you don't.

OK, so I've seen quite a few drafts going lately, and wasn't sure if going RB/RB is the way to go, but with Bush still there, he has blowup capability, and outside of week 9, this gives me a solid foundation.

Looks a lot better than mine sad.gif
gilthorp
don't know why you'd say that...
Caveman_Nick
MJD was not an easy pick to make, because I don't think this scoring helps him. It more favors featured backs than limited touch home run hitters. But....he was one of the last solid RB choices on the board and I felt like I would not get another good shot at one.
Marauders11
first time I can remember going QB/WR in the first 2 rounds unsure.gif

i see that we are on the clock.... just called tom. will pick soon

That's a real pickle this year....that 2nd round. Nothing wrong with having Jones Drew, Jackson, and now TJ.

I did it in the Ladder, going Brady/Edwards...I didn't like the choices I had to make in rounds 4-6. It will be interesting to see what you have to choose from at that point of our draft.
gilthorp
My thoughts last night were that in Round 3 I was going to take either Romo or Witten in the 3rd round. Would have been lucky to get Romo at that point, and Witten is a bit early, but there is no way he would make it back to me, so I had to grab a guy I expect to have a bigger year in 2008.
Skrappy1
Damn I was really hoping to grab Gates, Burress or Marshall in the 4th there. I was very hesitant to take Harrison, particularly with all the Peyton injury rumors, but it seems like all the logical options left here have some sort of questions about them.
TheCMB
Wanted Calvin Johnson or Plaxico in the 4th - settled for Marshall, and he's gonna miss a couple games! g-rant.gif
gilthorp
Going Gore/Bush...there was the Romo/Witten piece that I wanted, and I figured either Roy Williams or Calvin Johnson would be my #1 and I really wanted Bowe as my #2. We'll see how this plays out. I get 2 WR's that are in their second year and both showed signs of brilliance last year at one point or another. I like this foundation for some big weeks, but other teams also look very strong. Rounds 6-8 will be critical.

Tell me about it. I did not plan on seeing Maroney in the 5th...it was tough to turn down but it also paints me into a little bit of a corner.

who is Gonkis- and where is he? unsure.gif
gilthorp
Ummmm...Who is Gonkis, and where is he? Brutal.
Caveman_Nick
Gonkis emailed me this AM that he was "at an appointment". I don't know what that means, but I am sure we will hear from him when he becomes available. I am not willing to skip him or draft for him at this point. I have sent him a couple of emails, so hopefully he will get back to us in the next few hours. I can only ask that people sit tight until then.
Marauders11
this sucks
Caveman_Nick
The live draft room is open, folks....if you want to check in there from time to time. There is a chat function there.

But please don't pick players in there, as the site will not send out emails in response.

ummm, again

any word? unsure.gif
twiley
Some of you guys need to stop drafting from the draft room. I don't have the time to be online all day so getting emails is my only way to stay on top of the draft.
Whiskey Pimp
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of chatting in the draft room so why not just shut it down? That would eliminate people making a pick in there.

I use it to watch the draft and contact people as necessary.
Caveman_Nick
nothing like having 10 people online, but just not the one you need. kicksrock4.gif
gilthorp
No computer access for the next 4 hours. Made one preselect and will check in as soon as I can.
Squeegiebo
Nice 10th round pick there, Caveman. sneaky.gif

I was wondering if that was a pre select snafu...but that was intentional, eh? huh2.gif

At least yours started off hawt kicksrock4.gif

I've never had a team I felt was this bad unsure.gif
gilthorp
I need some good fortune myself...not the caliber of team I'm used to drafting. About 2 too many 2nd year WR's on this team.
