Nice job on this years site, like the new logo.
Have you thought about payouts and what not for this year?
I see there is a fantasy schedule set up that goes 14 weeks...is that been setup by you? Or just there...
I guess I was thinking with two divisions of 5, like you have it...then we play each team in our division twice, that's 8 games. The other 5 teams in the other divison thats 13 games. leaving us weeks 14, 15, and 16 for playoffs like we always have.
So 6 teams make the playoffs? Two division winners get byes? Other 4 teams in the Consolation/Toilet Bowl?
Some quick thoughts on payouts...
$370 for Super Bowl champ, same as always
100 for 2nd place
50 for 3rd
50 for consolation bracket
20 for highest score each week (260)
75 for total pts
25 for highest score of the year
70 for mfl
Total 1000
Does that work? Or did you have something else in mind?
That looks fine.
Did we bump down the total points payout the most?

I pretty much copied our previous payouts...except I left out the 50 for each divsion winner. And yea, then had to cut the Total points award down some from 100 to 75. And the hightest score of the year I believe was 50 and now 25.

Looks good to me.
One question: This year is just a redraft, right? No keepers for next year? If Ram & TimC or KenR come back next year we'll go back to 12 teams and then re-instate the old FLS rules?
Edit to add: I guess that's technically three questions.

I don't know if it was every clarified, but I guess I assumed we go back to keeper but also revert back to the rosters we had last year...so we can choose our keepers from our 2007 rosters?
I would think that next year we would have a brand new draft.
No keepers from past years.

uh.....I guess I'm not sure why we have to start all over. Not sure what the harm is in carrying over rosters. Someone convince me.
Other then your team sucks Boo.
I thought my plan was pretty good to roll over the keepers and how we could incorporate going back to 12 teams next year.
If we do redraft this year, I think it makes more sense to just start fresh next year.
And I have Peterson, Grant, Owens and Lynch on my roster right now.
My team was absolutely stacked BB - I'm just trying to be fair...
Seriously - what if your team is stacked - and you have LT- but he tears an ACL this year? The dynamics can seriously change by this time next year.

I guess that's why I didnt really understand your plan. I assume we're going back to our old rosters and all selecting two players to keep from those rosters. So I didnt understand why you wanted us to only select one player.

Assuming Ram and Timmay return next year, they would also be able to select two players to keep from their 2007 roster.
My plan was using the rosters at the end of this season.
For this year, we would still name our 2 keepers like we always do.
Next season (assuming going back to 12 teams), we would each keep 1 and then let the 2 owners pick a player each and then we would pick our 2nd keeper. That way the two new teams would have a shot at decent keepers.
If we just do redraft this year then we should just start fresh next season.
Ok. I have to ask..... is this a keeper or redraft league? Will it be a keeper or redraft league?

Redraft this season.
I thought I knew what was going on but now with the ?'s being asked I want to get it clarified:
Redraft this year and next year we will become a keeper league again but it will be from scratch? None of us will carry players over from any previous years?

Haven't really had time to clarify all that, REZ. Just trying to get this season off the ground. My preference would be to redraft this year and start anew next, but I figure we'll hash it out as we go.
My opionion is if it's redraft this year, then it should be start from scratch next year.
I think we need to know that for sure before we draft this year.
I don't draft the same for redraft as I would keeper league.

Keep in mind I was under the assumption we were putting the keeper league on "hold" for a year and would attempt to resume in 2009 with Tim and Ram returning. I guess I was under the assumption no one should lose the roster they had built up over the last couple years because a couple guys needed to take a break. Granted, the value of those possible keepers could change over the course of that year, but we'd still have the option of keeping some of those players we had specifically drafted or held on to. That includes Tim and Ram, they would choose from their 2007 roster as well.
As far as how we draft this year, 2008....I don't think anyone is considering these players/rosters as something we would be able to use as keepers for 2009.

It took you a couple of years to build up 2 whole players?

Okay, this year's players CAN NOT be kept next year. If we return to a keeper league in 2009, we will either start fresh or revert to 2007 rosters and choose keepers from those. Copasetic?

Who would I have to choose from? Or would I be relinquishing my team to one of the originals who are taking a break this season?

Tom, with three AWOL owners I'd guess that there would be at least one opening next season. As far as who's 2007 team you'd inherit, we can figure out the best way to handle that later if that's okay.

agreed. redraft and contraction this year, then re-expansion and a whole new draft next year. seems like the only real way to do it without it becoming sort of a clusterf*ck.

Just so we're clear - I can still DRAFT Cedric Benson next year - right?

If I am allowed to stay in this league I will fight for your right to do so until I take my last breath.

Just noticed the draft only has 16 rounds. Think we may need to add a couple?
