The league rules state that no timer is to be used. They also state that out of courtesy league owners will preselect as possible and will pick in a relatively expedient manner out of courtesy to leaguemates.

I understand Gonkis is in some kind of a meeting, and Twiley/Bier were busy yesterday. However, if big lags like this continue I will have to consider putting a timer on this draft, and it won't be a 12 hour timer. On the low end 4 hours and on the high end 6 hours.

Some owners, like Squeegiebo, they preselect far in advance knowing they might not be around. And Squeegie does a darn good job putting a team together. Take a page out of out own BFL's book and don't let the league flounder in your absence.

Any timer that gets enforced will be off from Midnight Eastern until 9 AM eastern. This lets east coasters get to bed without having to worry too much about the draft and lets westcoasters get out of bed at a reasonabe time before checking in.

I'm all for a 4 or even 3 hour timer asap. I've never done a slow draft before, and don't think I ever want to do one again.

It's not normally this slow.

Slow drafts are nice because they allow people to not have to carve a 3 hour chunk out of their busy summer. This has just been a particularly brutal stretch.

I'm all for the timer as long as a set of watchful eyes are on this thing moreso than mine can be. smile.gif

I vote yes for the timer so long as we don't start it for a day or so in order to allow sufficient notice to everyone that it will be implemented. thmbup.gif

FYI, this is not a democracy. It's a dictatorship. Well, actually it is somewhat of a cross between a republic and an oligarchy, but either way I will apply the timer if I feel it's necessary wink.gif Democratic process is too messy.

But I did plan on leaving this up for at least a day before I turned a timer on. This was the FYI that it's being considered.

Timer is fine for me and I seem to be when I wore my first dressing the thing up better than anyone. I tend to rely on the e-mails to keep me posted as I hesitate to pre-select more than a round or so ahead. There must be some live draft room use 'cause I'm not getting the e-mails I expect.

I was working 'til 8 last night and didn't check the draft, but I was up as of 6pm and never knew it. Sorry for the pain.

Just try and check on it every few hours and a timer won't be necessary smile.gif
