It would have been nice if the guy picking FIRST had pre-selected ONE player. LOL!
So much for starting early.

NEWBIE!

You can't preselect the first pick in this draft. No timer = no preselect for the first pick. Dunno why. MFL thing.
Not preselecting the 31st pick at this point. I need to go to bed now. Somebody call my cell when it gets close to my turn, please.
Cincy's phone # is up on the site. Should someone give him a call?

we need to finish at least one round today if we're going to make the start of the season. How is the guy picking 1st with a week left to go before the season not paying attention? Oh right, it's the Bengals!
whatthehec, i'll call him.
EDIT - actually, i'll wait a little while. I started to dial - but 360 (area code) is Washington/Seattle, so he's prob still asleep.

Sorry boys...I went and preselected a player last night as I knew I would be sleeping when the draft opened, but obviously that did not work.
was it a bad omen that Peep never checked in for his tie breaker dice roll?
I just shot him a PM

Guys, we should have a draft timer on IMO. 4 hours max for pick methinks.

seems like every year in this league my draft spot has been somewhere in the middle. it has always sucked watching that first round dwindle from studs like addai and moss down to the likes of lauveranus coles and warrick dunn by the time you picked. this year, picking 6th, I actually get a top tier player

on a struggling offense with a QB that hasn't been cleared to practice. That offense also has the 6th hardest schedule and the way they are playing so far, I'm scared.

Got your message Mike, I'll call you when you're up and have a list of best available players ready for you. We'll make it work.
Will PM Pope. We have to be a bit patient here guys as the draft start date was never really determined, so some members may not even realize the draft has started.

I'm used to picking earlier than this. My 32 Homers record has hovered around 9-7 each year. The NFL Lions record really helped my draft pick go earlier. Stupid Lions had to go 7-9 last year.

They're making me alter my draft strategy.

There's always the Great Lakes Classic.
I was just looking at the huddle cheat sheets...
We draft 9 rounds plus the 32 studs. That's 320 QB/RB/WR's. Exactly 32 QBs are taken, so that leaves us with 288 players. If you add up EVERY RB/WR/TE on the cheat sheets, you get 294 players ranked.
I can't wait until I'm trying to decide between Joe Horn and Terry Glenn.

Hmmm. We'll see: there are solid position players I passed on. Remnants of getting stuck with ChiTMQB last year. That was NOT happening again.

Go with Horn, he's a stud.
Oh wait. No name dropping!
Well, Atlanta Cracker hasn't logged into the huddle since 8/23, both of the phone numbers he has listed at MFL have been disconnected, so I snet him an e-mail.

If anyone has a way of getting a hold of him, please feel free to do so or let me know how and I will gladly try.
If we can't get a hold of him, we may have to find someone to draft for him, I'll refund his fees if he doesn't want a team someone else drafted. But let's wait a little and see if we can get him.

I just spoke with AC. He just changed jobs and does not have access to the huddle or MFL from work.
I gave him the corporate filter workaround for MFL information. He should make a pick shortly, and will check in tonight.
He didn't know that the draft had started, and with the new job things just got hectic for him.
And then he takes the DET WR that I was eyeing.

Spoke to Keg as well, he'll be home within an hour so if Chargerz logs on we'll be rolling again.

I was very happy to have Jacobs available at the 26th pick, though watching NYG pass him over both as a homer stud and then again in round 1 makes me wonder what I missed.
Anyway, he matches my bye week.

I thought it was a great pick. I thought it was strange that NYG passed on him in the 1st round. I also thought it was strange that PIT passed on Willie Parker for Thomas Jones instead. What happened to the "homerism"?

and then the eagles pass on mcnabb only to have the cowboys of all teams scoop him up
I picked...sorry for the hold up but I F'd my back up at work today...when Hugh called me the Dr. had just walked in to see me....
Bad News: I have a low back sprain (that hurts like a M'fer)
Good News: I didn't rupture a disc
Did get two shots:
1. Flexeril which is a muscle relaxer...that poopy felt like a grapefruit that was on fire as it was injected...and while it does feel better...it still hurts like a mofo.
2. Toradol which is a pain reliever
As long as Hugh continues to call me when I am up I shouldn't ever hold the draft up that long again.
