For whatever reason, our site had our draft scheduled for August 10, 2008. (Some of you may have noticed you had this year's rookies on your team without knowing how that happened. Well, know we do). I never set the draft up that way; perhaps it was a default time and date from MFL. Regardless, despite reseting the draft day for the correct time and date the site still "thinks" we've already held our 2008 draft. This has created some oddities in terms of getting the draft order straight. The site is clearly confused and I've got an email to tech support. I'm confident the issue will be ironed out by Saturday, but wanted to keep everyone posted on the development.

If any of you are MFL commissioners in another league or otherwise know a way to fix the problem, I'm all ears.

I can't think of one. So you tried to reset the draft time and updated and it won't change it? It just keeps reverting back to Auguest 10th? MFL may have to delete the league and recreate.....maybe shrug.gif

I was wondering why I had McFadden.

From what I see you just need to go in and cancel the first pick that shows me with Adrian Peterson. Then go in and set the draft rounds for the first few picks and then start the draft order from there, right?

Then from there it needs to be set as a snake draft :

From Big John:

"I think resetting the draft date, then going to "revert draft" in the commish area under "draft setup" to undo picks already made will get your draft back in order."
Hat Trick
From the help center:

"Normally the answer would be For Commissioners > Draft Setup > Revert Draft. I'm not sure which steps you took to load your keepers, so I don't know if doing so would effect your rosters. "

I set the keepers up first, then noticed the problem. I've done the "revert draft" twice now, and that cleared out the picks from the August 10 "draft" (all except Adrian Peterson going to Hat Trick, which is weird because Peterson is also a keeper on another team that can be seen on that team's roster).

And the site is accepting a new draft date for August 30. It's on our league calendar and everything. The two oddities I can't figure out is the site forbidding me from changing draft order. (I can click on the link to do so, but the site gives me an error message that I'm not allowed to do that because the draft has already "started"). The other oddity is Hat Trick having already picked Peterson in the new draft room because: (1) the new draft hasn't' started, so it should be picking anyone; (2) Peterson is already on another team as a keeper; and (3) even though Hat Trick is at the 1.1 spot, he doesn't even have the first open pick - PON does.

No word from tech support yet, but we'll get this figured out.

The good news is that I was able to undo Hat Trick's "drafting" of Peterson, which fixed the problem of MFL considering the draft to have already "started." Also, I was able to fix the draft order for every round, so were good there.

The bad news is that even though everyone has their keepers reseting the draft order nuked the draft room's recognition that your first keeper costed your first round pick... at least for most teams. The site is letting me tune that up for some teams, but not for others. I'm really at a loss to explain that one. I'll keep plugging away.

Contacted tech support about this last issue and am awaiting their reply.

so my list above is wrong? Can you explain why please? Happy Birthday Yo!
Bill Swerski
I manually reset the rosters to the appropriate keeper picks by picking them up as free agents. For some stupid reason, the system wouldn't allow me to manually "draft" the keepers on the teams whose rosters got reset (they need better override capabilities), but we should be able to find a way around that.

Actually, yes. But it made me double check the draft order and I noticed that Brewer and DaFreaks were transposed at the MFL site. So I fixed that.

Draft order is now 100% correct.

Rosters/keepers are 100% correct.

Still working on making keeper picks translate into a loss of picks in the 1st-3rd rounds.

Hmmm. I was able to fix up the first two rounds with brute force. (Just deleted picks that didn't below due to keepers). However, the site isn't letting me do that with the 3rd round.

I've got to say this has been the buggiest draft I've ever tried to put together. MFL tech support was only marginally useful, too. They're usually aces.

Like wise! I hope your wife gets you what my wife got me. shades.gif

FYI, guys, the only work-around I can think of with the buggy 3rd round is to leave it as is, take the time off, and let me manually skip picks that should properly be taken up with keeper picks. Its the best I can think of right now. Clumsy, but effective. Maybe I'll be able to think of something tomorrow.

I'll be at work most of tomorrow getting ready so feel free to buzz me on my cell if you need to.

I wouldn't bother, lets just manually get through the first few picks, then when we're set we can pause and turn the timer on (hopefully).

This is surprising, since I don't see any major changes to their web-based software.

Is there a way that you can just manually skip an owner's draft pick during the draft?

Yes. We'll be forced to do exactly that. After round 3 I'll turn the timer back on and it should be smooth sailing from there.

I still can't make picks on MFL, so if I'm slow with this I apologize.
