16 rounds is f8ckin plenty for a redraft......Change the FA $$ to 50 and have a nice size FA pool to bid the rest

Its kinda crazy, I know, but if you look at the draft report on the site, it reveals that the draft ends at round 16.

You don't think it was an oversight on daves part that every other draft we have ever had only had 16 rounds because we kept two players? That the 16 rounds was just a carry over of every other draft we have had?

I think Billy is absolutely correct on this. Our very first draft was 18 rounds. After that, we each kept two players and drafted 16 rounds. This year, without the keepers, the draft needs to be 18 rounds.

I don't know whether dave meant to set it up that way or not, I just know I've been drafting on the assumption that the draft is 16 rounds because the draft says it's 16 rounds.

Another thought: Since the league has contracted from 12 teams down to 10 teams, the Free Agent pool will already be much (36 players) richer even with an 18 round draft. If the draft is shortened to 16 rounds, the FA pool would gain an additional 20 players.

About the 9th round I looked and saw the draft went 16 rounds. Didn't think about it beyond that.
I can pick 2 more players or go with what I got.

When i first noticed the draft only had 16 rounds and asked about it on Tuesday, I went to the bylaws page on our MFL site to see what the rules said. I saw the number 18 for roster spots, so came here and asked about it. But I'm getting old and must need a new bifocal prescription cuz now it says 16.

It did say 18 (see 2007 league site or earlier years).

Whether you based your draft strategy on the asumption that there would be 16 rounds or 18 rounds, could have an effect. Not the end of the world, either way, but we shoud resolve this before round 16 begins, as it would obviously affect everyone's decision (e.g. some teams have no kicker or defense with less than two rounds remaining)

Another possibility is we compromise and go 17 rounds ???

I'm fine either way, but yeah, I'd like to know before I draft a keeker here in the last round...

I would vote for 18, if we're voting.

As of right now, Furd, Bear, HoP, BillyB, Boo & Az all need a kicker or a Defense, so if we're only going 16 rounds, they are forced to pick those positions now. If we're going 17 or 18, they've got some flexibility.

I'd vote to keep it at 16 since that's what I've been assuming the whole draft. also, keeps things easier for dave, who sorta has some other things to be thinking about

all i'll say is i definitely made my last two picks based on the fact i thought I had 3 more picks coming.
