Looks like the rules are:

"5. ACQUISITIONS

5.1. The waiver wire signing period begins after the first week of NFL games are played. The deadline for the first round of weekly acquisition requests is Wednesday at 11:59 P.M. The waiver wires will be awarded based on reverse playoff order. "

"5.7 If a drafted player is injured before week one and out a minimum of 8 games, the team owner may choose to drop that player and select another player."

I would interpret it as a cut player would be the same as an injured player so you could pick somebody up. Any objections?

However, rules is rules. I know in some leagues this might not fly. Im ok with whatever decision is made, but we should try to avoid having this issue in the future (open waivers a week before the season starts).

Maybe set up a FCFS waiver for tonight only?

I'm okay with Hook picking up another kicker before the start of the season.

I'm okay with chester picking up another kicker since it would result in an illegal roster... but the sinister part in me wants to say "tough".

I don't have time to search, why is it we don't allow FCFS for a couple days prior to the first kickoff of the regular season? Is it to avoid someone sniping a player because of any last minute news that may come out?

Honestly, not something I like to see but I'm okay with allowing hook/chester to make these moves.

Sorry, Whomper, but you certainly can not pick up players after the week has started. I'm going to have to reverse them.

OK. My bad. I didnt check the calendar. Usually when waivers are closed it is indicated on MFL. I have dead weight from the draft as well that I was looking to dump (Bell cut Lienart demoted). Reversal is fine.

I didn't have it setup correctly. And honestly, if you would have asked to cut Bell before Thurs game, I would have let you.
