List is reflected of rosters as of Midnight EST On Wed Sept 3.

But remember that FAs are considered non-homers and that any one team is only allowed 8 non-homers on the active roster. Anymore than 8 non-homer constitutes an invalid roster. DTS non-homers do not count against the non-homer cap. If there is an FA on your team that was signed to the practice squad of your homer team, let me know and that FA will not count against the non-homer cap. There is no way for me to tell if a player was just cut or resigned to the PS so you need to provide me with that info as I am assuming that any FA that I see on your active roster was cut.

The penalty for invalid rosters are $5 HFA per week.
Footballjoe
Nice catch TJ. Get those roster under the limit or go broke. You cannot start more than 8 non homers even if you are being penalized.

QUOTE
3.4.3 Final roster declaration.
The final cut down date will be the Monday before the first NFL regular season game at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Each team must designate a max of 35 active players, 8 DTS players, and up to 3 IR players. On, or prior, to final cut down day, each owner must post a message in the league forum listing his
a.) active players,
b.) DTS players,
c.) IR players, if any, and
d.) The number of contract years for each player on the active roster or IR.

If a team does not meet this deadline, a penalty of 5 HFA$ will be imposed. If final cuts aren’t made within 48 hours of the first NFL game a new owner will be sought. Each team must have six homer players listed as active players at all times. Any team that does not have at least six homer players on their active roster as of kick-off of the first game of week one, will be fined 5 HFA$. An additional 5 HFA$ penalty will be imposed as of kick-off of the first game of any subsequent weeks where a team continues to have less than 6 homer players. If during the season, the number of homer players on a HFA team drops below 6, due to an NFL trade, waiver or other NFL roster move, the HFA team will have a 7 day grace period, without being fined, in order to secure additional homer players. After the 7 day grace period, the HFA team will be subject to a 5 HFA$ fine as of kick-off of the first game of any week they have less than 6 homer players on their roster.

I thought it was 6 players minimum, I didn't see anything about a maximum under the roster portion of the rules.

CODE
3.1.1 Inaugural draft.
The Inaugural Draft for the HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE LEAGUE will begin on May 8, 2008. Subsequent years will consist of a Rookie draft only. In order to preserve the integrity of the home team concept the following format shall be used.

1) Each team will Protect 12 players. Failure to meet the deadline for declaring your team Keepers will be loss of 1 Keeper. After 24 hrs and the Keepers are still not declared a new owner will be sought. The new owner will be able to declare 12 Keepers.
2) There will be a (6) round draft with no more than (10) players taken from each team. If a player is drafted by its own team, it will be considered as one of the 10.
3) The draft will be in order of the NFL draft (1-32 ) However then 32-1 (serpentine) to mimic the HFA original draft.
4) Rookies will NOT be included in the inaugural draft. There will be a (4) round rookie draft proceeding in the order of the NFL draft and keeping in that order. (1-32, 1-32 etc.)
5) No team will be allowed to have more than (8) Non Homers active at any time. There will be no limit on Non Homer DTS players.
6) Unrestricted FA's are not considered as a Homer player.

That's just another error in the rules that nobody caught. That's part of HFA's rules, and can be cut out of our rules I suppose.
Tford
Ryangene is right. Those are part of HFAs rules and can be edited out. HFA has a 6 minimum homer start rule (or is it just active). Would never be employed in our league because that many non-homers would not be allowed.

Please cut the following players to make my roster valid:

NYG

Douglas, Robert FA RB
Pope, Geoffrey FA CB

Thank you
kelloggs23
Alright, can it be put in the roster part? I don't look at the inaugural draft portion anymore since the draft is long over with.

I still don't see how I have 12 non-homers that are on my active roster. I only see 9 if you count D. Moore FA DT that is signed to the TBB practice squad.

You should be ok now. Dre Moore will not count towards towards your non-homer count as I see he is on the Bucs PS.

Nice catch. I think we nee to remember to check this when FA bids are open. teams need to get in compliance or get fined.

Why are we allowed to TRADE to bring a team to compliance? Teams in violation should have to CUT a player. Their roster never should have been allowed to be exceeded anyway. Imade a waiver claim and was denied because the non homer limit. Why should someone else be allowed to make a change that helps them? They should have to CUT a player.

I agree that whatever move was made should not have been allowed. However, this being a new league with new commishes we sometimes screw up. We will be watching it a little closer from now on.

The reason they are in violation isn't necessarily because of a FA addition, their team could have cut a player or something in real life and makes their roster become in violation.

But when I see this, it makes me think someone just isnt paying attention. "their team COULD HAVE....."? We have reords for what teams did.

I understand it is hard watching every detail in a league this size, but if it is really that hard to do, perhaps there should be one person assigned to noting how many homers each team has, and if a move is made that puts them in violation, it is simply not allowed.

Is that a volunteer? biggrin.gif

And I will admit that I hadn't looked in a week or 2, completely forgot to check it. I was just offering up a possible alternative as it isn't for sure that it happened through FA. I'm sure we could go back and figure it out, but it isn't really worth it at this point.
kelloggs23
Updated and fines are assessed.
benisone
Do I have enough money to make it threw the rest of the year? I'm fined because my team drops a guy and another team picks him up the next day. Do what you got to do.
kelloggs23
I see a certain DT who has only scored 2 pts all year. Might be worth it to drop him to become valid.

Oakland has a couple of FA's that they could drop.
peepinmofo
So one of my homers just got traded yesterday. I think that puts me under the minimum, no? So how soon do I have to make it fixed? Is there anything in the rules regarding this situation?
kelloggs23
Has been updated following the trade deadline. There are teams in violation, please make moves to take you out of violation by kickoff or you will be assessed fines.
BigMikeinNY
The NFL trade deadline was yesterday. We gotta give these teams in violation at least until Thursday or Friday to get back to 8 and under. It's not Huddlers faults that NFL'ers got traded yesterday. I would cut em some slack till Thursday maybe smash.gif

Teams have till kickoff of the first game of the week to get into compliance if a NFL moved caused them to be over the limit.

Correct.
AmericanMoose84
F it, I give up trying to juggle 4th string DBs just to stay under the limit.

There really has to be an easier way to do free-agency. This is ridiculous that I miss out on any free-agents if I am not able to send an email before Wednesday.
kelloggs23
FA Bids are due by Wednsday night. And you can release players at anytime.

Final update before kickoff, please fix these and watch your team for those that are close to the limit as fines will be assessed. Thank you
