Well.....half our power workers in the state were in the Gulf helping out. They couldn't get back up here until Tuesday morning. And the 70+mph winds here were the strongest ever recorded in this area. I hear you though....a lot of places who "routinely" get hurricane force winds have all upgraded their equipment to withstand a lot more and probably retain many more workers in peak seasons.
This was sort of a fluke for us.
And BTW....we are on a cutline in the grid I guess, so that if we didn't get it back last night....it would have been off until Sunday. There are still about 125,000 in the central area in the dark.
On the positive side....not one frikken report of any looting.

AT ALL. I think that's amazing! No one is price gouging....everyone is helping neighbors....pretty terrific!
