Now, you know I am a big Giants fan but I always was a closet Dolphan. I even went to a Jets-Miami game in NJ wearing a Phins jersey. That being said, I rooted for the home team.
Seats were 24 rows up right between the uprights. I'm not big on endzone seats but we lucked out as most of the scoring took place in our end.
The crowd was loud. It went up a notch everytime the offense set up in the Wildcat formation. It's an intersting twist that makes defenses think twice.
Ronnie Brown is a stud...period. The offensive line is young but seem to get better with each game. Give Jake Long 2 more years and he will be an all-pro. Rickey seemed to come a little more alive in the 2nd half. We kidded that he hit a bong a few times in the lockerroom during halftime.
Chad was solid but only went deep 2 or 3 times (ya know, deep for Chad). Fasano seemed open across the middle all day.
The defense's strong point is the line. I wasn't really that impressed w/ the secondary. It may have looked like good defense on their part but it was really either hurried throws by Rivers or the inability of SD receivers to bring in the ball that slowed down the SD passing game.
Highlights were the Phins converting on a 4th and 1 that led to the go ahead TD as well as Chambers exiting the game dinged abd not retrning(Miami fans hate him b/c the swear he was paid by those we do not mention to purposely drop balls when he played there.)
There were a couple of side show for me at the game.
I was out in the spirals choking down a butt w/ the rest of the fools. I see this big bald latin guy wearing a Ronnie jersey. I give him a double take. In return he gives me that nod that means "Hey I know you recogonize me". Well, I knew that jaw a mile away. It was Ramon Castro, the catcher for the Mets. I later went over and asked him for a picture. His buddy could figure out how to work my cell camera so I ended up with 1 good picture w/out me. I told him I was originally from NY and a crazy big Mets fan. Now walking down the spiral he puts his arm around my shoulders and says, "If you're from NY then why are you at a Dolphin game". His buddy yells out, "'Cause he hates the Jets". We all laugh then he tells me that "The Dolphins are the chit." Shook his hand then went back to my seat.
Later I was back out in the spirals. There was this woman wearing a pink Ronnie jersey and pink short shorts.
Anyhow, It was a great day and a great game. Just wanted to share that with you guys (and lady).
