Someone mentioned it in the last flurry of emails, and it was brought up at the draft as well. Are we still looking to get together for the Vikings game on the 19th this month? I can't recall if it was supposed to be at Allerys (sp?), or some other place where a Vikes fan is taking their life into their own hands. Just wondering is all.

Thanks for posting this Nuns... I'll also email the league. Alary's on the 19th. I'm guessing it might be just a tad packed there for that game. If we do it, we should all agree to arrive fairly early to get a table.

Alary's? Seriously? There will be blood and death if the Bears lose............ unsure.gif

I'll be sure to wear my red Blackhawks jersey then. It will help hide the bloodstains, and I may get a reprieve if for only wearing the jersey of some Chicago team.

Yes, but it would be a bloody violent death surrounded by bouncing boobies.

I'll be OK. The Urlacher shirt will magically protect me.

It's ok. We'll be happy to sacrifice you as the object which brought the Bears bad luck and caused Orton to throw 4 interceptions.

So, how will my Cowboy's Emmitt Smith or Troy Aikman jersey go over?

I posted it in the main forum a few weeks back. I think a few people expressed interest. I must be out of touch, where is this Alary's you speak of.

I guess i will google it.

Sounds like a lot of eye candy.

User Reviews for Alary's Bar
Without a doubt a local favorite 07/15/2008 Posted by NDubs55

Former Chicago Bear Al Baisi really built a local favorite with this establishment. The Chicago Bear games during the football season are something else to witness. The fan support in the Twin Cities is great. Alary's is, I believe, the safest bar in St. Paul. Not only home to Chicago Bear fans but to the local Police Officers and Firefighters. Alary's is a must attend party before any event at the XCel Center with reasonably priced drinks, free shuttle to and from the XCel with a ticket and a friendly atmosphere. It is a relaxed, blue collar place that will put a smile on the face of any weary traveler. The current owner "Big" Al is a great host and warms the coldest winter nights with his smile of genorosity when in the cozy confines of Alary's. And don't forget the old school bubble hockey. Now how can you go wrong in a place with that machine at your disposal? It is a must visit to anyone from the area or just visiting. If you are an out of state Police Officer, there is a special place for you at Alary's as well. Stop on by and say "HI".

Pros: Friendly service, great patrons, friendly host/owner, free shuttles, good drink prices, nice outdoor patio

Cons: just frozen pizza's (for now)

Worst service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 05/28/2008 Posted by skybluegreen

Ok, here's story. I went to Alary's with a joined bachelorette and bachelor party. We were on a party bus together. I went to the bar to grab a round of drinks for 6ppl.well the snotty, "thought they were working at "The restuarnt with the HOT waitress, ya know, the ones with the big chests and hot orange shorts on" but were not hot enough to get a job there", bartenders kept walking by and ignoring me and one of my girlfriends. Whats funny is after i gave up trying to get their attention, I gave my money to my boyfriend so I could use the bathroom. I said, "Here, you try getting some beers"! Well i went to the bathroom and had to stand in line. I didnt even get to go when he came walking up to me with my beer. How annoying! Guess what trashy bartenders?! Ladies pay for drinks too, and we tip better than the men do! So I would have to say, if your with your boyfriend or husband, expect to be ignored. And i you want a drink, give them the money, thats the only way your gonna get one!

Pros: Um, a cold beer?

Cons: Where do I start?... Terrible service, bartenders wont even look at you unless your a man!!

Fun place to meet people...great drink prices 12/27/2005 Posted by firefighter

Super fun place! Real cheep drink prices. Good looking guys & girls hang out there. A mix of everyone. I've met Teachers, Vikings Players, Senators, Cops, Wild Players...just about every walk of life. Gets busy...especially on Wild game nights. Free in door parking after 4pm right next door. Always a good time in a good part of town. Oh yeah, FREE rides to the Excel on Wild Game nights!!!! P.S. The owner is a super nice guy too!

Pros: Good Prices, Free parking, Fun & Busy

Best Chicago Bears Experience for Twin Cities! 12/27/2005 Posted by vbking7

This bar is the ULTIMATE sanctuary for the Bear Fan Faithful. It will warm you and make you feel (if only for a short time) like you are back in Chicago. The staff are friendly, BAY-U-TI-FULL and eye-catching. If you have an affinity for the Monsters of the Midway, this is YOUR bar!

Pros: Bear Fan Friendly, Plethora of T.V's, Ogling Atmoshere

Cons: Smoking

Best drink in town 02/04/2005 Posted by redbreast

Wide assortment of inexpensive domestic beers; great pizza and Super Chexx bubble-hockey. Free parking after 4pm with great happy hour prices. Best part: Bartenders are friendly and absolutely gorgeous!

Pros: Inexpensive, Sexy Bartenders, Hometown crowd

Worth the trip 11/26/2004 Posted by cubiniowa

If you are going to an event at the Excel you should go here. It is not as close as the other places but the drinks are much cheaper without it being a dive. For hockey games they offer a free shuttle back forth to the game. I believe they even offer free parking (Saw a sign but was staying the night at the Holiday Inn so I did not need to park) Another good point is there is a good crowd there but not so packed that it is a battle to get a beer.

Pros: Good Service, Cheap Beer, Good Environment

I probably won't be able to make it. My boy got a concussion in the football game Friday night. He's out for Wednesday but he wants to play the Tuesday after that. He has to shut it down this week with no school or exercise at all. So basically he needs to follow his normal routine. sneaky.gif

He may get to play last Friday's opponent in the first week of playoffs. I want him available to kick their arse.

I've forgotten it's the third Sunday of the month, our regular system maint window so I am going to have a problem. I doubt the maint will be finished in time to get there.
Savage Beatings
Looks like its not happening this week. We'll try again sometime this season.

I did not check my email that weekend and did not see the flurry of emails that said it was off, so I went there. I did take off my collar. Looked all around the place. I have never seen waitress with a skimpier bottom in my life. I was hard, I mean difficult, to look for you guys and see what was happening with the game with those lovely distraction there. blink.gif

laughing.gif Oh man, I'm sorry Terry... you should have called! I suppose that's probably within walking distance for you, isn't it?

Well, the wife and I are working furiously to try to get our basement finished. If all goes according to plan, we hope to be done by Christmas, and then I might be hosting a Superbowl party this year. But so far nothing has gone according to plan, so that could be putting the cart before the horse. I'll let you guys know.
