So, Cutler throws 3 TD's, 447 passing yards, 29 rushing yards.... and gets outscored 42.25 to 43.20 by Kellen Winslow who had 2 TD's, 111 yards and ten receptions. What is wrong with this picture? For cryin out loud, Elway never passed for 447 yards, but a TE with 2 TD's and 100 yards outscored Cutler with 3 TD's and 450 yards passing?

Hey, I have benefited from the over valued TE scoring system too.... but I think we need to take another look at TE scoring... they are over valued IMO now. Double yardage points might be a bit too much compared to years past.... there are TE's now that regularly hit 30 and sometimes even 40 points.

Anyways.... looks like there will be no trash talk this week... it isn't even fun to pick on RC anymore. But I have a request for the little green men... please beat Selly. coach.gif

g-bash.gif I picked up Brady to start him because I just had a feeling. Then I chickened out and went with my other new quarterback Flacco. Flacco better get more than the 25 points that Brady did. Also believed the priority news in that Scheffler would play, but not that much, missed out on another 25 points. Could have had nearly 80 points with those two and Royal who I did start. Oh well, Royal has scored half of what my entire team scored last week, so maybe everyone else will finally step up.

I agree that TEs are still over valued but didn't we used to have double yardage points and double reception points? At any rate I would probably vote to have them scored the same as other postions. Also I don't like that RBs are left out on reception points.

If we devalue the TE to the same level as WR's, I think we'd need to change our roster requirements as well. There are only a select few TE's that actually have the ability to have a game like Winslow did on a weekly basis. Maybe have a lineup where a TE is not required. Just count TE's as WR's.

Or slim down TE's to 1.5 as much instead of twice, dunno. Tominators gonna get terminated.

RC, in another league I fence sat until the last moment, and went with Scheffler over Marcedes Lewis. Cutler just loves the guy. Even with limited snaps, he nearly got 100 yards!

As far as the TE scoring, I have Owen Daniels and he also puts up some very big numbers in this system. 3 of the top 15 scorers in this league are TE's, 5 in the top 30. I like Chief's idea of 1.5 instead of twice the yardage scoring.

For instance:
D Owens: 43 rec., 528 yards, 2 TD= 160.6 points
W Welker: 56 rec., 505 yards (+19 rush), 1 TD= 113.2 points

Should Owens really be outscoring a very comparable WR by well more than30%? That is a 47.4 point differential between Owens and Welker, while they have very similar stats. Owens is the # 11 overall FF scorer in this league, while Welker is buried at #58. Both are on my roster... so I think I present a balanced arguement. Giving TE's 1.5 on yardage would even Owens and Welker out for a more comparable player value.

How is it that EVERY freakin team I play in this league almost NEVER has a player on a bye? Same chit this week, and next! pullhair.gif

Another thing, don't even consider dropping the TE position, or make it the same as wr's. WR's are hard enuff to get as it is, and more would definitely be gone as more than 1/2 the TE's would be totally ignored and never drafted.
