Sorry but I thought the thursday game only mattered if we had players in that game. However, since the week started, the site won't allow any pick ups.

My defense is on bye, and I am looking to add the Texans D. I don't think this would violate any rules. So if possible, PSU, could you drop David Martin, add the texans d, and place them in my starting lineup?

Muchas gracias!

Objection!! Sorry Godfather, but that wouldn't fly.

COMMISH already made that clear. Sorry, I just dont recall ever needing a player in this situation. Funny thing is, as poorly as the Texans played, I was better off with Tampa. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, I had to shut your request down, but we have been set up like this for many years. The WW closes once the first game for the week has been played. I even posted a reminder to each owner to set their lineups, so it is not fair to your opponent. If I let you pick up a D to fill out your lineup, I would have to do that for everyone is a similar situation.

I realize the rule has been in place. And yes, you said set lineups. But since I did not have anyone in that game, I did not think about my lineup till the weekend. I think its kind of a rule that should be looked at. In most of my leagues, waivers are used to keep someone from picking up a player that happens to blow up that day out of nowhere. But filling a lineup need when a player is on bye?? We should be able to do that on Saturday. And yes, it did cost me the game. mad.gif

And as I mentioned before....I just have never had an opportunity to come across this situation. I would be against it, even if it hadn't been me. You cant pick up a defense on Saturday, when your D is on bye?? that is nonsense.

I think it is a fine idea to add this issue to the discussion for tweaks at the end of the season. With all the NFL Network games on Thursday starting from last week, it is a short period of time to have FAs added to your team.

I don't know if MFL has some sort of way to prevent players from Thursday nights game being picked up, but we could have an honor agreement to allow other FAs to be available until kickoff for next season. I don't disagree with your comments, but I don't think it is fair to make a ruling mid season, hence, my stance to keep things as they were last week.

Note to self, put this issue out for a vote after the season.

They do... Under Setup | Waivers/Free Agents Setup > Prevent Owners From Making FCFS Waivers/Free Agent Moves Between Kickoff of that player's game and the end of the last game of the week? You would set this to YES and you cannot pickup a player that has played in Thursday's game, but you still can pickup other players... Don't know about dropping players from teams that have played in the Thursday game though...

Ok, I thought you won by 2. However, that is not my main concern. I agree with the Commish about not changing rules midseason. But I definetly think this should be looked at. Not being able to fill a need on Saturday is not fair, and it will cost someone a game at some point. So lets get it figured out during off season.

This seems like a good change. I'd vote for it.
