This is totally unofficial, but after some discussion with Skippy, I've taken a fast look at the possible playoff seedings even though there are a couple of week #13 games with the outcome still up in the air ... assuming for a moment that those still undecided games remain "as-is" after the conclusion of the HOU-JAX game tonite, the playoffs seedings may shake out something like this:
1 ... ts (9-2)
2 ... New Kid on the Block (8-3)
3 ... Mike's Vikes (7-4)
4 ... Putin's Head (6-5)
5 ... Rocky Mountain Rhinos (6-5)
6 ... ???
... that last playoff spot is going to be a tough one ... in the running, all with 5-6 records at the moment, are:
- Stainless Steel Wingnuts
- Used to be Good
- JoJo's All-Star Techno-Dancing Frogs
- Big John
Looking at head-to-head record as the 1st tie breaker, JoJo, UTBG & Wingnuts are all 2-1 against the other 3 teams involved, while Big John is 0-3 combined against the others ... proceeding to examine head-to-head record between JoJo, UTBG & Wingnuts - all of them are 1-1 against the other two teams involved. In calculating total points scored (the next tie breaker) we have JoJo at 1051, UTBG at 980 & the Wingnuts at 921. This would I think have JoJo snagging that last playoff spot, if all of my other assumptions & calculations are in fact correct - and if so, that gives us:
- ts & New Kid on the Block get a 1st round bye as division winners.
- week #14 >> Mike's Vikes plays JoJo & Putin's Head plays Rhino.
- week #15 >> ts plays Putin's Head / Rhino winner & New Kid plays Mike's Vikes / JoJo winner.
- week #16 >> winners of week #15 games play for the Late Bloomers title.
Again - I want to stress that this analysis is totally unofficial, but Skippy's stuck at work & indicated that if I wanted to try and sort out the playoff seedings and matchup scenarios on an unofficial basis to go ahead & post them. Skippy will no doubt correct any wrong assumptions I've made as quickly as he can this week and get them posted here and plugged into the "official" playoff brackets on MFL.
Good luck to all the rest of the way out, and thanks to everyone for another good / fun Late Bloomers season.
