We need to get a good set of tie breaker rules in place.

Here is only rule we have in place concerning standings, playoff and tiebreakers. It's a bit thin and could cause some issues.

QUOTE
Standings:
Standings are determined by head-to-head games won and lost.
Points accumulated on a weekly basis will be factored into playoff tie-breakers.

Can anyone define this with certainty ? Is it H2H match up or points that is the 1st tie breaker ?

Here is my question?

Hudy and Meglomania both are 8-5 . Mega scored more points, but lost H2H against Hudy . Who gets the #3 seed and who gets the #4 seed ?

BigMike and Moose an Squirrel are both 6-7 and in the running for the 6th and final playoff spot. BM has more points and also won the H2H , this is clearly obvious that BM gets the #6 spot, but you can see the trouble we may have had given the vague nature of the rules.

The way the standings look right now 1-6 is the seedings for the playoffs. This is the way it has been the previous 2 years.

The tie breakers in the standings all year long would be TOTAL POINTS, which it has been for 3 seasons.

Now, we don't have a "playoff" tiebreaker. Which would mean we would be in big trouble if there was a tie during a playoff game.

So total points is the only factor in determining playoff seedings ?

The rules makes it unclear citing Points accumulated on a weekly basis will be factored into playoff tie-breakers , it appears to be written so that points are just factored into the equation, but doesn't go any further then that.

no, total points does not equal standings.

But if two teams are 7-6 in the standings, then yes, total points is what comes next.

so, for the past 3 years regular season standings have been figured by using the following.

1. Record
2. Total Points
3. (if 1 and 2 are the same, H2H)

Can you set up the Toilet Bowl too?

The #7 and #8 seed from the regular season get the bye. Then #9 plays #12 and #10 plays #11. 50 dollars to the winner!
