Guys, as we head into the final week of the regular season just wanted to say thanks and I had a lot of fun with the league this year. The auction was great and here’s to hoping next year’s will be even better.

Couple of things I’d like to go over for the playoffs and next year…first of all the playoff teams are set already…1st seed is Zia, 2nd seed is South Austin Spatulas, and the wildcard 3rd and 4th seeds are Eat Hearty!!! And Jerry’s Homers, although the latter 2 seeding depend on the final week’s W/L results. My thoughts are to do something a little different in this league with the playoff seeding and allow the 1st seed the ability of which other seed they want to play in the first week of the playoffs. I know most leagues have the top seed play the lowest seed but a lot of times the wildcard is ranked higher in the power rankings then some of the other higher seeded division winners. So Zia, you have until Wednesday, Dec.10th at midnight CT to determine which other playoff team you want to face in the first game. Either email me or post it in our forum on the Huddle. If no decision is made by that time than it will be 1st seed vs. 4th seed, and 2nd seed vs. 3rd seed like usual.

Payouts for the league this year will be 200 for 1st place, 100 for 2nd place, and 25 each for the division winners. The other 50 will go into the MFL website fee. Since there were only 8 of us this year Darin and I decided not to do a payout for highest points scored this season…hopefully we can add a few new teams next year and implement that and possibly high scoring of the week, etc...

Also, I’ll go ahead and set up a consolation/toilet bowl for the non-playoff teams…since there’s no payout for that this year maybe y’all can discuss amongst yourselves what the winner should get…maybe have the naming rights for the losing team’s team name for next year, a case of beer…something like that.

In the next couple of weeks, we’ll start discussing options for next season. I’d like to go ahead and get an established date for the live auction every year…say the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of August. This way everybody will know from year-to-year when the draft is and can plan accordingly. I’m also open to moving the draft from city-to-city every year but I’ve got no problems with hosting it at my house for 2009. Also we’d like to get 2-4 more teams involved to bring it up to a 10-12 team league so if you’d like to mention it to one of your friends that is local to Texas, or at least can get here for the draft let Darin or myself know. We’ll most likely have some rules changes/adds to as I know MFL now has the ability to process the blind bidding like I do it through their software. We can discuss PPR and any other changes you’d like to see on the forum during the off-season.

So again, it’s been fun and good luck during this league’s playoffs and any other leagues you will be playing in…

Interesting......I am looking at either playing on of the two teams that gave me my only HTH losses, or the leagues highest scoring team. I am going to have to give this some serious though. I will be sure and let you know ahead of time.

Oh, and I looked at the time/date I put on there and realized that midnight on Wednesday would be that morning...so I meant Wednesday night. Just let me know sometime before then so I can adjust the lineups accordingly. Just wanted to get it all set up before the Thursday waivers and game.

Alright Kieran......time for me to man up and prove to the world that I can beat you. You own me so far this season, being the only team that went 2-0 against me. Here's to hoping the third time is a charm for me!!! Best of luck!
