The Great Grabowskis 109.35

Is the tie-breaker from earlier in the season that is the deciding factor. Congrats to the kid!

So the seedings are:

Great Grabowskis @ Titletown of Lambeau

&

1957 & Waiting @ Aaron Rodgers Says F You

Item of note: the 4 playoff teams are from last year's bottom 7. Egret was #2 and finished 8-6, while savage was #3 and finished 7-7. Nice job, guys.

And not to be a killjoy, but we're going to skip the WouldaCouldaShoulda thing because A) not everyone sets lineups and cool.gif it screws with the overall standings records and am trying to get that fixed. So I'd rather not add to the problem. But just so you non-playoff teams aren't TOTALLY disappointed, here's your draft spot:

1 - Motown
2 - Hurricane
3 - 4 Star
4 - Hammer
5 - Ditka's (lost twice to...)
6 - Rollerdome
7 - Color Purple (beat both Robn and Savage)
8 - WFIFC

tbd...

I even saw the last TD but I didn't think I was still in it and went to sleep, deciding not to check. WOW. Thanks guys, feels good to make the dance finally after some very bad years. As the highest scoring team this week, I believe I got a legit chance to capture this league title. Good luck to all!
Egret
Congrats Goopster. I checked the scores at halftime and felt pretty good about my chances. I'm glad to end the season with a winning record.

doh.gif I was just looking at draft order.

Puddy is a back to back playoff appearance guy. He's the first our league has had. ARSFU made it in year 1 and is the only other team to make it twice.

And in my excitement for goop, I failed to catch that, in fact, Robn made it to the playoffs in year 1.

12 playoff spots in 3 years and we've had 10 teams make it, leaving me & egret wondering what it's like. That's actually really good parity. It took years for my local to hit ten, and in 10 years of playing one guy made it this year for only the second time.
Goopster24
After the first year I had no idea when my fortune would change. Same with last year. The parity is great, thanks for the info Pope! Job well done this season commish!

Middle of the pack finish... I had such high hopes. sad.gif

Hey I've got a suggestion for a possible rule change for next year to vote on (whenever we get to that in the off-season). Add a couple of Wild Card teams to the playoffs, and start the playoffs a week earlier with a 1st round bye for the top two teams.
Goopster24
I do that in my home league with a bunch of friends. We have three divisions with three wild cards in a 12 man league. This is our second week in the playoffs with the top two teams getting a bye. I don't think it adds much. There are sh!tty teams that make the playoffs and then somehow get far. They say it's parity and makes it fun; I think it's crazy.

How many WC's do you want Savage?

I hope Love doesn't snag Cory Boyd in the redraft.... unsure.gif

I sort of like that we only get 4 teams in. This is my only league like that. 33% of the teams baby. All my other leagues are 6 (which I think is pretty standard)...or even 8 whacko2.gif

If all the teams get in, what's the point of the regular season?

We're trying to mimic the NFL, not the CFL

Savage is probably just one a'them liberals who don't want nobody to feel bad.

Well I do love me some games with a ton of punts think.gif

I've gotten used to it as a Lions fan. bag.gif

I also like the 4 teams. My local that is also called Norris started out at as a 10 team league where 8 teams made the playoffs. Now it's 8/12. It's been that way since 2001. It works in that league. I'm not so sure it would be as fun in this one. I say we stick to 4 teams. I'll earn my playoff spot next year. thmbup.gif I don't need any hippie liberals like Chavez or Savage to get all touchy feely and give me a welfare playoff spot. shades.gif

I really like that we only have 4 teams make it...makes for a fun reagular season...

Maybe all the non-playoff teams can get participation awards?

Maybe it's just that Savage really does believe in the redistribution of wealth. I knew he'd come around. unsure.gif

Oops, thought I was in Good v. Evil for a second.

Ooooooooh Kaaaaaaaay... now I'm thinking we probably don't need to bring it ot a vote this off-season. laughing.gif

You Facist tyrants won't be able to resist the power of my feel-good policies for long. You might be able to keep me out of the playoffs THIS year, but just remember that deep down I love and cherish you all, and I know that you love me too... and THAT my friends is the greatest form of Christmas magic. Wait? What the fuck am I talking about again? think.gif

Something else I'd also like to nip in the bud (log this Big John) - when the NFL goes to 18 weeks, instead of an extra round of playoffs we go to a 2 week point total SNorris Bowl.

I'm in a 2 week/game playoff system at work and I really like it.
CaP'N GRuNGe
The 2 week thing would be interesting. It would really extend the waiting though, and as Petty says "the waiting is the hardest part". I could go for that though...I think.

I'm good with 4 teams in the playoffs, but maybe the wildcard should not be based on record but the team with the highest total points that didn't win a division. unsure.gif

And could we make that last part retroactive to this year. whistle.gif

How about the team with the greatest amount of awesomeness?

I'm flattered you would think of me like that, but it really should be based upon Fantasy Football somehow.

Is this a common thing? I have not heard about this and am very intrigued...

When did Richard Petty say that?

think.gif I like that idea. Kinda hedges against the vagaries of bad luck, even though I generally figure out that sort of luck evens out at some point in time.
