Beer vs Brats Bowl 1
Oh boy. Let's cut right to the chase. Poor Big John. If he takes any type of lead into Monday Night, he'll be screaming BJSFUAR!! Can we get a webcam?
And also, let's not forget what's at stake in the 3rd Place Bowl: the better draft spot. That's right, loser drafts in spot #10 and the winner in spot #9. It actually might quietly be the best prize of the day....
Let's get it on...
Beer vs Brats Bowl 1 (NB3):
Until Tony Romo (anyone still impressed with this guy?) woke in in the 4th i would expect BJ to admit he felt fatman was pulling away. As it is, he provided enough of a game to certainly keep it a game, especially if (as some believe) the Pack is walking into a buzzsaw Monday Night - 37-3 earlier in the year be damned.
In the backfields, fatman got off to a good start with MJD, but no TDs. Jacobs...could be an issue. Dinged guys in week 16 are tough. If the score gets lopsided in one direction or another he could see the bench until the playoffs at any point in the game. Gotta be a concern. BJ has a backfield that certainly looked scary earlier in the year but both players have underwhelmed. I have to say I like fat's RBs better than BJ, but the possibility exists that even with MJDs start BJ could get him here. He's in toruble if not...
WRs/TEs - AJ/White/Cooley/Witten vs Coles/moss/Moosh/Shockey The TEs are probably a foregone conclusion since Shockey really hasn't had anything consistent this year. Before writing off BJ I think it's important to note both Coles and Moss are in it for good vis a vis playing the whole game. I'd expect Moosh to as well but there's no telling what Nawlins does now they're eliminated. AJ + White are certainly killer but also a little streaky, though perhaps that had more to do with Sage (for AJ). I give a slight edge again to Fat but not as big as one would expect.
PK/D - Rackers/Steelers vs Bironas/Atlanta - Bironas is a one man wrecking crew all by his lonesome. Rackers? Good luck in the snow, kid. Steelers v Atalanta? INteresting take, gotta like the Steelers but going up against T Jackson has to warm up BJ. I don't care he tossed 4 last week. He won't this week.
In the end, it looks like a ARSFU win, but if it comes down to Monday Night Football, with a team named after the QB hoping their biggest rival doesn't plant his ass in the ground to see if it'll root. Well then, all bets will be off and the Pack will have one less fan rooting for their QB that night. Delicious!
