There is talk and it looks like support to go to PPR. Please use this thread to toss out the ideas on how and who we would like to toss a PPR to. I am not going to propose it, I am just going to see what you guys like then make my opinion heard.

Post away.

I'd be fine with almost any PPR approach, but just to keep it simple, maybe 1 point or even half a point per catch for any position is good with me.

Since it looks like it is just you and I playing at this point, I think I favor .5 for anyone that catches a ball. Even the kicker.

I could live w/ just about anything.

I was looking at the top performers list for our scoring system. Our lineups require at least 2 WRs......and yet NO WRs cracked the top 30 in points this year. It's a very QB/RB heavy league.

So I'd propose 0.5 ppr for RBs...and 1.0 ppr for WRs/TEs. We'd want pass-catching backs to get credit......just not make them too much more valuable, comparatively speaking, than they already are I think.

If you really wanted to get TEs involved a bit more without designating them in the lineup requirements.....

...we could go 0.5 ppr for RBs.....1.0 ppr for WRs......and 1.5 ppr for TEs. Give ourselves more viable options at the "WR" position.

I'd be fine with either of these.

I never worry about there being balance. QB heavy just means that the QB scores points more easily. Now the trick is still to find the one that will score better than the rest otherwise you will see that there is not a great deal of difference between QB 4 and QB 10. Sort of my same view for RB's but I would not at all mind doing something to give WR's a little more juice. I just don't really feel the need to make them the same as any other position because at the end of the day understanding the value of a player is what makes you a smart drafter. Just look at me...err forget that part.

So I'd propose 0.5 ppr for RBs...and 1.0 ppr for WRs/TEs. We'd want pass-catching backs to get credit......just not make them too much more valuable, comparatively speaking, than they already are I think. I would have no problem with this if others voted for it.

I'd be fine with either of these. Maybe I am just to boring but I don't feel the need to juice up the TE in a league that treats a TE just like he is a WR. I would not want to give the TE anything more than I would give the WR.

I'd go 1 PPR regardless of position. I think that you will have some legitimate options with your flexible lineup with that.

You had to go and double my bid didn't you?

I could live with this as well. I do favor things being the same for every position.

Yep, 1PPR

If PPR is wanted then keep it simple. One of the beauties of this league is that it doesn't suck up time like a demented Hoover. Most leagues make my brain hurt. fool.gif

I prefer PPR. I can support the 1PPR. But, I do like Steelbunz's suggestion from Jan 12 '09. I like a little spice -- something different than all the other leagues.

it's time to heat this up and see where we really stand on the issue. I will try to take a minute to read it all but right now I am just blasting away at some posts and not putting a ton of thought into anything.

I like this approach the best.

I could get behind this suggestion.

I'd prefer Steel Bunz's bump for TE PPR since we don't need to start a TE. I went through a discussion like this in another league (Interboard) and tested out the different scoring options similar to ones offered here in a mock MFL league. But the No TE changes things abit here. It would be good to bring their scoring closer to a WR's.

But either proposal works for me.

Btw, welcome aboard Sky!

Whatever the league chooses to do or not do regarding the PPR proposal(s) made thus far - whether it's to just abandon the PPR idea for this year, add it for all positions or just some, add PPR with varying points awarded by position - whatever ... I think we are now close enough to the planned draft date where we need to get some closure on this, since any rule change that is decided on will doubtless have some impact on how we rank / value / draft players next week.

I mean, how do I sort out what round I use to draft the Patriots 3rd string TE if I don't know how many PPR points (if any) that TE can be expected to potentially get me every week I use him? Or, if no PPR, maybe I use that same pick on a 3rd kicker instead?

Just my $0.02 for the day ... maybe we could set up a formal "poll" type post with 3 or 4 options on implementing PPR (or not) and ask all owners to vote on their preference by sometime on Wed or Thu of this week? Something like:

- No PPR
- One PPR, all positions
- One half PPR, all positions
- One PPR for TE, one half PPR for all other positions

... or whatever.

I agree TS. I will make an official vote thread and we will get er done.
