When this league kicked off, I knew that we had some temps because they were necessary to get the league off of the ground but the amount of people we need to replace at this juncture is more than I would have expected. As it stands we are about half in, half out.

32 team IDP dynasties aren't for everyone and I remember the difficulty we had filling the league in the first place. The hardcore players are generally cutting back their leagues and the newbies are too intimidated by the depth of the league. Even HFADL1 is having difficulty filling their open spots.

I don't want to see this league fold up because despite it not being my brainchild, I put in alot of legwork to see it succeed. But I think we need to be realistic, can we replace 10+ owners? If so, let's get busy spreading the word. I personally don't see it happening. But what we can do is design another league based around the owners already in.

I won't speak for FBJoe because I'm sure he has his own opinion on the matter but whichever way we decide to go, a decision should be made soon so we can commit to it.

I see it as being a very difficult task replacing that many owners personally. I feel like you that I put in a decent amount of work and don't want it to go bye, bye, but at the same time we have to be realistic.

Is there any possibility of just taking owners from this league and filling in the spots in HFAI?

I thought I'd put my two cents in...I'd like to continue with this league as well, but I understand the difficulties. I believe there are too many owners still invested in this league to find a suitable amount of open teams within HFAI. I will begin looking for some replacement owners as well, but I am not going to promise anything. As an aside, the Oakland Raiders owner is not returning. I don't believe he has posted this, but has intimated his feelings on the subject and I felt obligated to pass them along.

I was going to wait to post this but now may be a good time. With so many owners leaving I was thinking about suggesting that each Owner would manage 2 teams Of course at least 16 current members would have to step aside which is almost the case right know. I spent many hours last year trying to fill the league and frankly I got burnt out.

The set up could be done one of many ways, each way would include having a permanet Homer team. The other team could be assigned by:

1) rolling dice for first pick of team. (can be done each year or be a permanet team)
2) roll dice for first pick but the team cannot be from the same conference. (Must own both an AFC and an NFC team)
3) Assign team by positionn in actual NFL draft.
other ways can be suggested

Also can determine if we want to assign contracts and have rookie drafts. Any thoughts?

Thought on 2 teams is... isn't there a conflict of interest when owning two? What about having two, but combining them? It would just seem weird to manage two separate teams without having some kind of preference towards one or the other.

OK I did not make myself clear. You own 2 NFL teams and combine the two for one HFA II team. This English stuff almost kept me from graduating HS.

...if we were to go in the direction of combining teams, for me, I wouldn't be interested and would bow out...just FYI. I have to agree, that I don't think we will find 10 + owners. This league was fun, but maybe it just wont work out.

Any update here? Does this league still have a pulse?

It would be great to see this league survive and not become the USFL.
