I'm willing to play again, but I have considered retiring from this league over the last two seasons. There a couple of issues I would like to see the league discuss:
- We need to find another owner so Meep doesn't have to run two teams, again.
- Would we ever consider turning this league into a complete redraft league from season to season?
- What about doing a new alignment for divisions? Maybe two 6 team divisions? Top two teams from each division advance to playoffs?
I'm just thinking of ways to keep interested in this league and not leave it.
1. That would be nice.
2. I would have no problem with a redraft each season.
3. More teams in a division usually = more teams out of contention sooner, but not always. If we had four 3-team divisions, the problem this creates is the more divisions you have, the more chance you could have a non-division winner have a better record than one of the other division winners. For example, if we had this last season, and TTAC and I were in the same division, TTAC's 10-4 record would not have gotten him into the playoffs while two teams would have gotten in with 8 wins or less.
Honestly, the way we do it now, I believe, has always yielded the top four teams making the playoffs. You can't do better than that. We could re-arrange the teams, though. We could roll the dice, and the four highest are put in the East, next four in the Central, last four in the West. Or the highest roll could just choose his division, then the next highest choose, and so on. Or we could simply align geographically.
