When I was registering our league with league safe - it asks for a couple of things I was uncomfortable with. First if you want to use a credit card to pay your dues (the option I thought easiest) it was 51.50 a person - not unreasonable seeing as a paypal acct costs too. But what really disturbed me was when payouts were made. You would get your winnings in the form of a prepaid visa card. I'm pretty sure you can't cash those in - you can only charge with them. If you wanted a paper check or an e-check (ach to your bank account - it was an additional 3.00 charge per transaction.
After reading all of this - I would suggest that John White (Rovers) who has volunteered to take care of the money do so. We can mail him checks and get checks mailed back for the cost of a stamp. Also seeing as alot of people are crossovers between redraft and the other huddle dynasty wars - it is easier to transfer winnings to the other commissioners - slick and frazier to pay dues there if you want.
What does everyone else think?. I know for a fact that I trust John completely and have no problem sending my money to him.
Initially, the league safe feature sounded pretty good.... and less work for the person handling dues to boot, but in the fine print, it isn't a very user friendly feature. I think after looking things over, it may be best we just save $$ and do it the old fashioned way.
BTW.... Connie paid $150 out of her OWN pocket to get the graphics at our MFL site done. Just to make this league better. I think it looks great, but talk about commitment. Connie is one of a kind. If in fact we go with snail mail and checks to pay for dues, if possible, add another 10 bucks, which I will forward to Connie to defray the cost of the league site graphics. Purely voluntary.
Connie and I have pretty much concluded that league safe isn't a very good option. Unless there are objections, send dues to me. I will open a seperate savings account for this league. The interest might pay for a few stamps...LOL.
Since this will be a slow draft, we need to start early. July 6th looks like a good date. That means that dues will be due by June 15. Add an extra 5 or 10 for Connie's investment, if you so choose.
Mail dues to
John White

Any questions, feel free to call me. I use this # for my biz and home phone. 516 938-1805. The $ will be safe. Payouts will be distributed within two weeks of the end of the league Super Bowl.
Again, if there are any objections, now is the time to speak up. I don't have PayPal, so it's all snail mail.

+1
graphics are so underrated, we should all add $10
John, check is in the mail today, with a little extra for Connie.
Ill send my check on June 1.
Do we really want to start a draft before August 1. Id hate to see someone get hurt in Mid July and ruin our season before it even gets started. I understand you can lose a guy week 1, and its similar results, but at least starting later gets us through most of Training Camp. Just a thought.
Sarge, I thought it was you who wanted an early draft? I think I am more comfortable with July 15 or so... other opinions?
My internet access will be very limited the first week in August. I'm OK with starting soon, or after August 10... I would just prefer not to start August 1 and have to pre-select the first several rounds. Even if we started August 10, we would be looking at less than two rounds per day to finish with plenty of time to spare. My vote would be to start soon, or wait until early/mid August, but I'll go with whatever the majority prefers.
Check will be in the mail tomorrow morning.

No, Ive never agreed with early drafts for redraft.
And who the hell is deleting my posts. I made a post weeks ago in the discussion thread and now its gone, so I reposted something similar to it.

I haven't deleted anything.... don't have an answer for that issue, but I have never deleted any post or thread in this forum.
