I am taking a full year break from FF as my interest in playing has waned over the past six months and money has become tight. It has been a lot of fun the last nine years, and you guys have become more than FF competitors, but true friends. However, too many expenses with my house and my cars have put a serious dent in my monthly budget and it seems irresponsible to spend more money on FF at this point. Looks like I am going to take the whole FF season off and give my FF budget towards paying off stuff I had to replace in my house. When you get no raise (I am just happy to still be employed at BAC) and you replace a roof (mainly from insurance money), a water heater, a new range / oven, A/C repairs, etc. I need to do whatever I can to save money this year. I have been playing FF for at least 11 years and I will miss it, but perhaps a one year break from it will get me excited again for another season as I have lost some of the joy of playing FF over this past offseason.

I will still hang around The Huddle and may ask to re-join the league if the money issue improves next year, but wanted to give everyone a head's up to choice a new commisioner and find a replacement owner in time to keep the Dugout for 2009.

I will stop by when I get a chance every so often to see how things are going. Good luck to everyone this year!

I have been considering this as well. Perhaps we could take a league-wide hiatus for 2009 and re-consider things a year from now?

I would be up for that idea, as my budget should improve towards the end of this year and taking a break will either make me glad I decided to sit out the year, or I will miss it too much that I will be anxious to get the FF juices flowing again in July 2010.

If anyone else wants to run with the league and wants to step up as Commish, I will be glad to give them the password for the MFL site and let them run the league if the interest is still there to play this fall, otherwise, I will just check in every so often to post on the MB if people want to stay in contact with everyone.

I am definitely AGAINST the league wide hiatus! I still have the passion and love for the game. I want EVERYONE to be back, but I understand there are other things in life besides FF. Like fantasy baseball, March Madness, etc.

But seriously, I still think we should keep it going.

It's fantasy football. It's not like t's baseball with daily transactions.
They play one game a week. It's fantasy sports for Sloths, c'mom!

I can find replacements in a heartbeat. I'm sure a few of the other guys can as well.
