Guys,

In the last couple of days I’ve received word from Carlos (BIG DOG). He said he didn’t receive my emails, phone calls and messages because his contact information had changed. Long story short: he just got back to the site and told me that he still wants in the league.

I’ve spoken with Rich and Andy (new owners of DICKS and SIDEKICKS) and they are being very gracious. First thing I want you all to know: my position is that these are Rich’s and Andy’s teams… they showed up, did the work, agreed to pay the league fees. That said, after a couple of days talking, Rich and Andy are willing to compromise.

First off, Andy is willing to step aside in favor of one of our original owners. Considering that Andy picked up the last-place squad from last year and then had a really good draft, I want to thank him for his time and energy. He offered up his franchise to Carlos; but Carlos did not like the team.

Second, having already drafted for the team previously known as BIG DOG, Rich offered to accommodate Carlos, by having a compromise draft. Understandably, Rich doesn’t want to give up the team around which he planned and drafted, but he’s willing to put both the DICKS and SIDEKICKS teams into a general pool and then have a two-team draft for those players, where Rich picks first, Carlos second and then back and forth until both franchises are filled. Carlos has agreed to this compromise.

I’m telling you this because I feel this compromise goes beyond simple commissioner approval. This two-team draft will change the faces of those franchises and affects the entire league. Again, Carlos is one of our original owners and I’d like to have him back in the LEGACY, but since everyone is affected by this situation I want to make sure no one has a problem with this before proceeding.

I’ll call around to make sure everyone is aware of the situation, but if you’d prefer to offer your opinion here, please feel free.

I feel since Carlos is an original owner and this is a dynasty set up we should welcome him back and I would also like to extened a sincere thank you to Andy for jumping and doing a fine job during the draft and also for being a nice enough guy to be willing to step aside when Carlos resurfaced. So thank you Andy and welcome back Carlos. I would also like to state as an owner we all know the timetables of the league and it is the responsibility of the owner to check into the website now and again during the offseason not only to keep up with the schedule but to see if there are any potential changes to our format. It is not the commisioners responsibility to have to track down each owner especially since Matt runs more than one league and also needs to make a living outside of fantasy football. With this being said we need to approach the issue of what to do with Carlos and Richie's teams. Personally I am against the player by player re-draft its not fair and an unreasonable request, this thing should have been wrapped up by now and we are not going to wait for the 2 teams to redraft. My solution is A) Rich keeps his team and Carlos takes over Andy's team or throw both teams in a hat have an owner pick one out of the hat and thats your team period. I also want to state this is the last time the league will be this forgiving ;fantasy football is modeled to mimick the NFL and if an NFL team were to fail to show up on draft day they would be S.O.L. and this needs to be our policy from this day forward its not fair to put such a burden on the commish where he has to go find a new owner and than call the guy 2 weeks later and tell him the previous owner is back and ready to play. I hope we can come to an agreement on this issue and move on with business as soon as possible,thank you.

In todays world, where communication has many different devices,ie.......cell phone, internet..etc, there should not be an issue finding someone in a three week period ever. Unless that person chooses not to be found.

NO WAY should there be a new draft between the two teams for obvious reasons.

Put Carlos on a next new owner list and be done with it.

I am sure there will be vacancies next year, like there were this year.

As that email was extremely long and intelligent, I want to just make sure that I agree, which I think I do... So my opinion is:

No way on a re-draft with those 2 teams.

Carlos should take the team available to him, unless he can convince whomever took his team over too pick out of a hat for ownership of either team.

I dont think there are any other options with this. You cannot change the complexity of the league, some of us have prepared and drafted based on other team rosters...

I have spent countless hours, including during my vacation making sure to get my pick in and do things the right way, in no way should the league be affected by any rogue owners. This is not a knock on Carlos, I am sure he made an honest mistake, but compromising the league will not be fair to other owners.

Carlos is taking over the BIDDLE franchise... I was waiting on a final confirmation from Dave before announcing this change on the website... of course it's sad to see a competitor such as Dave leave us, but we're glad to welcome an original owner, Carlos, back into the league
