Hi there - it is time to gear up. August 1 falls on Saturday so we will start the draft at 8 am CST. We will run without a clock until Monday August 3rd at 8 am. It will be a 12 hour clock. We have a lot of drafting to do and not much time to do it. So we can not afford to have time slide by. You will need to predraft at times. If you miss your draftpick - you won't be able to make up that pick until the end of the draft.

We will use a randomizer draft order and will publish and email the draft positions. It will be done a week before the draft.

This is of course a combined veteran and rookie draft. Trades will be allowed. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get ahold of John or myself.

We will be doing a double header in week 3 (before bye weeks) Might need some help setting that up. But that way everyone gets to play everyone else once.

Its time to put your drafing hats on everyone. Hopefully we have everyone in place and ready to go.

Double-head is very easy to set up on MFL... I can help if needed.

As I mentioned previously, I am anticipating having limited internet access during parts of August 1-10. My wife and I are road-tripping from CA to MN for a camping/golf trip. However, in no way will I let that hold up this draft... I'll bring my laptop and iphone, and obviously provide contact numbers as we get closer to the draft. As a LAST resort (in order to avoid having any of my picks skipped), I will probably also try to create some sort of draft list... My only fear with that is that I don't want to find out that we've made it through round 3 of the draft without anybody trying to contact me for my picks. In other words, like I said, if I create some sort of list, the intention would be that the list only be used if I can not be reached after several hours (timer expires).

That said, there will be periods of time during that 10-day stretch where I'll have no issue getting online, so it's not like I'll be AWOL for 10 days straight. I'm just not sure how well my iphone will cooperate, driving through Nevada, Utah, etc. and then camping for three days in MN. On the other hand, while I'm away, I definitely have no issue with someone attempting to call/text me when I'm up, rather than letting the draft stall due to my situation... In fact, I would prefer that they do try to contact me.

The two things I hate the most when it comes to drafting are lengthy stalls in the draft, and having to pre-draft multiple rounds in a row... I'll do everything possible to make sure neither of those happen. smash.gif

Stingers,

If I do create some sort of draft list like I mentioned above, I would probably do so on MS Excel... Would it be all right to email it to you as an attachment? More than likely, you wouldn't even need to reference it anyway, but just in case, I'd like to take this precaution to avoid having any picks skipped, etc.

No problem I'd be happy to hang on to it "in case of dire emergencies". Thanks for going the extra mile with the draft. We will make sure someone contacts you when you are on the clock or close to being on the clock - even on deck.

I'm fairly confident that you'll be able to reach me if I'm not able to get online. My contact numbers are listed... Give me a call or text if I'm up... I'll have some cheatsheets with me during my drive. By the way, can we pin a link to the league site on this forum, possibly? smile.gif

Good luck drafting, everyone.

I know all are getting restless. I have emailed and sent a message to Jake via Facebook. He is in Iraq. I am hoping he shows up soon. Doing everything we can to get this going - if he hasn't shown up soon. We will have to make some sort of decision.
