I propose we start the draft 8/24 or 8/31. We could start it midweek as well if that needs to be done. It will be a slow online draft and we need to be completed by 9/4 to allow for waivers the first week before the Thursday night opener 9/10. If you have any conflicts then please post them here. Please post your choice along with voting please, its fine to post your choice, but state why. Any conflicts with the other date or if it is just preference etc. I can be a liason and call, if we start on the 31st we will need to move along rather quickly. Please keep everyone in mind during this time and keep the long wait times to a minimum.

Thanks,

8/24 is good for me as well. Last year we had a week long draft which I believe was very successful could we do it again?

Me too. Murphy's Law says having two weeks is much safer.

I like to wait as long as possible. After the 3rd preseason game if possible.

Lemmings! All of you!

If we're allowed to take 2 weeks to get the draft done, then it will take us 2 weeks. If we're allowed 1 week to get the draft done, the it will take 1 week.

I say we start as late as possible to avoid any injury issues. Start 8/31, and then get 'er done.

ETA: Also, if we start 8/24, then we have to have our keepers declared by 8/17. Too early in the pre-season to determine.

I agree with Rhino.

With 9 Yay's and 2 Neh's we will start the draft on August 24th. I can see the logic in wanting to start the draft the 31st. If we started it the 31st that would put us under the gun to get it completed by the end of the week because everyone will be going out of town or be away from the computer for the holiday weekend. At least by starting it on the 24th we could suspend the draft on the weekend if we didn't get that far or just have that buffer. I realize that the 3rd preseason game could yield some injuries as that's the game the starters could play the most, but I don't like being that close to the Holiday weekend drafting still. I know my weekends are very busy. Besides nobody gave concrete reasons as to why they COULDN'T draft during the week of the 24th wink.gif so we will start 8am CST on the 24th and keepers will be due August 21st by Midnight CST. I will change the rule to 3 days, a week is too much of a buffer anyway. We are all skilled enough to adjust our sheets for the keepers on the fly anyway.

Any objections?

Looks like my other half will be away for most of the draft week, which is handy because I have four drafts that week so I wouldn't be able to talk to her much anyway. mouth.gif
