Sorry all, will have to post the links tonight as I still can't get in. g-bash.gif

A few things to remember:

1. The draft is 32 rounds.

2. Roster requirements are unlimited once the draft is completed. Teams may carry as many players as they like at any given position

3. Free agency will begin the first Wednesday following the draft. From that point until final cut down rosters will be limited to 45 players.

4. Your roster requirements for the draft are below. You must fulfill these requirements in the draft. For example, you can’t go without acquiring a CB in the draft expecting to get one via FA.

2 QB
5 RB
5 WR
2 TE
2 PK

3 DE
2 DT
6 LB
3 S
2 CB

5. Roster cut down will take place Monday after the final pre-season NFL game or Monday before the first NFL regular season game (whichever is later if there is any difference) at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Each team must designate a max 32 active players and up to 3 IR players.

6. There is no timer and the draft will be at a laid back pace, but if you know you're going to be awol for an extended period please let us know in the commentary thread or PM somebody so that everyone else is not waiting around for nothing. If it's something unexpected and you can't post I have no problems with you calling me on my cell as long as it's before 9 PM Central.

7. There is only one full IDP draft, no separate rookie draft.

8. There is no trading before or during the draft.

9. Have fun.

Any other questions you can post here and/or PM me.

I like your enthusiasm.

Gosh, I don't think I've ever predrafted more than one round. laughing.gif

Rolling a 76 is what put a crimp in it for me. sad.gif Waiting at the turn. I need a few more picks to go through before I preselect both picks.

I'll bet things pick-up tomorrow. I'm going to keep checking in today just in case.

I love drafting. Things generally take a turn for the worst for me when it is over.

If it wasn't for the drafts I'd quit fantasy football forever.

I was hopingTomlinson would slide to 1.05. I have Tomlinson, Jackson and Turner in the same tier. Atlanta isn't on the worst schedule list but Jackson doesn't play TB and Carolina twice each.
budlitebrad
First time taking a WR in round 1. I doubt this ends well...
MonkeyOne
I decided to try WR-WR at the end of the turn after seeing a lot of discussion on the main Huddle forum. It's definitely an experiment... (Tough if Chris Johnson had lasted one more pick I'd have had him.)

Speaking of sleeping...

Woke up at 8:30 this moring, so I held the draft up once again (at least a couple of hours). Made my too picks and it is back to Monkey One. Good news is my wife starts her new job tomorrow, so I will be up by 7am PST M-F from now on. blink.gif

I was hoping to start the run on LBs with Patrick Willis. Chief Dick beat me to it. At least I have Beason now. smile.gif

I had a hunch he wasn't making it back to me after the short turn.

I'm calling Club now to let him know he's up.

Update: He will be picking within 20 min.

I'm not a fan of Chad Johnson, but I felt that as a WR3 he was worth the gamble. Equally, I figure there'll be lots of tackle opportunities behind whatever Denver do for a defensive line for Dj Williams to get.
Bring Back Pat!!!
I couldn't pass up the value of Brandon Marshall in the 6th. Even 12 or 13 games of his production should be enough to warrant this spot, especially if Capt. Hoodie Jr. can make his offense work in Denver.

He'd have been the 7.05 had he made it that far.

Y'all are making pretty good time. Well done MSHBers. clap.gif

Sorry, I hung things up again. We've had a stupid amount of meetings this week. Anyway, I've made my pick. And we're a third of the way through already.

When I call you folks a$$holes, I do so with the highest regard. I preselected Polamalu, Suggs, Reed and Fasano. There were only two of us who even needed a f*cking tight end.

Either you are all as smart as me or as stupid as me. Either way, it's a level playing field. A$$holes.

Good stuff.

I concur.

This draft is the most interesting for me. There are just so many different directions to go in. I can't tell if I'm having a good draft or a terrible one.

Clubfoothead
Correct me if I'm wrong but that was way faster than last year.

I struggled with my first 4 picks. I wanted Tomlinson buthe went one pick earlier. Like I said before that put Jackson over Turner only because of their divisions. I've never cared for Steve Smith and never drafted him. It was my tougest pick. I went back and forth between Smith and Jennings. Smith seemed safer. I hope he's back to start the season, if I could have a mulligan it would have been Jennings over Smith not even considering the injury.

I thought long and hard about Bowe over White so I'm awfully glad that contract got done. That Bowe "demotion" is just coach talk to get his head right with ball, he's a monster.

Addai over McFadden. That's probably not going to be a push by the end of the season. g-bash.gif

I guess I wasn't the only one holding out for Fasano. That changed my whole plan and I paniced and took by back-up TE way too early.

My second IDP draft is in the book. I feel pretty good but still too much of a noob to know if I should or not.

Great draft.

So, I decided to try WR/WR in a redraft. Not because there's no money on the line, but because it's a BOTH league and these are the forums where I've seen it discussed postively. I'm very happy to be starting Thomas and Smith given that I took Moss and Calvin first. I like both those backs for a strong, if not amazing, year. After that I decided to go WR a bit more in case I needed to start four, and was also keen to get linebacker depth too. As you can see, TE in particular suffered while I did this: i was hoping to get Zach Miller, but he went. The only time I went 'doh' was when I drafted Greg Ellis, because I forgot to check he was a DE. He wasn't. Week eight is going to be a pain as half my defence has it off, but otherwise I like it... famous last words. And, on balance, I will try WR/WR again elsewhere if my top backs don't make it to me.

Quite a difference with 12 teams vs 16, but you all did very well staying on top of the draft this year. clap.gif

so what are opinions about my team, being a rookie woman, no less? Did I out-draft my hubby at least? Shaky areas on many fronts, IMO. TIA

I think you did fairly well for your first IDP draft. I have you rated in the top half of the teams at this time, though just. However, even though you have better QB, WR, and LBs than your hubby, his RBs and DBs outmatch yours enough to give him a slight edge overall. I think taking Forte at 1.02 instead of MJD or LT2, imo, is what hurt you. unsure.gif

wholeheartedly agree, funny thing is he was drafting w/ me and convinced me to take Forte, then I thought, there's an opening, why don't you just draft your own team, which is exactly what happened.

I may be one of the few, but I like Forte much better than MJD. Especially in a PPR league which this is.

How often does Husband and Wife get picks 1 and 2 in the draft? Soon to come...I am going to start a post soon about "beating my wife"...of course in fantasy football only. We will post our teams from a local twelve team she and I have been doing since we were married on '01. That way you guys can rag on our local and start poopy between Scooby and I. She and I love this time of year.

I do, too, really. Last year was last year (even though they virtually had the same number of catches). The Jags O-Line scares me and teams will force Garrard to throw by keying MJD. I am willing to bet that Chicago will outscore Jacksonville handily, this year as a whole, thus giving Forte more goaline opportunities. That and the 2 tight end system for Chicago will compliment the RB position.
