Any rolls that do not FULLY comply with his instructions are null and void, NO EXCEPTIONS. I'll post the rolls here as they come in. Tie breaker are the first number in your roll,(higher wins) the second number, etc. If in some weird act of php madness two owners roll the exact same three numbers, we will have those two teams roll off for the spot, like we do with draft positions.
GOOD LUCK!
Add all 3 numbers up and the highest total gets 1st pick, draft positions will be determined solely on your roll. Highest to Lowest Roll , Starting with Pick 1(highest) and ending with pick 12(lowest). DICE ROLL INSTRUCTIONS:

Don't know that this will have any effect on current plans or not but I will be unavailable for a few days beginning next Thursday, August 6. The beautiful wife is going in for a C-section and I will be with her in the hospital for the better part if not all of that weekend.

Good luck to BS as well.

Did we know the draft is running on MFL? We're three picks in already, all made by the auto system. Wondering if that's in error or if I was just too slow on the dice-rolling thang?

Change of plans. Turns out I won't be in the hospital Thursday through the weekend...
We decided Saturday night to get in one last date night before mommy/daddy bootcamp starts. Anyway, we went out and had a nice dinner, came home and took a little stroll around the block and...
Long story short, our first son was born at 6:01 am Sunday morning. Mother and child are fine. He's a healthy 8 pounds 1 ounce and the poor kid looks just like dad.
Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes. We will be back home Wednesday so I'll be able check in periodically after that when the boy and the little lady are sleeping (likely often).
Thanks again and see ya'll soon.

When are we going to have this draft? Looking for some opinion/consensus. I have always believed that no FF redraft should be held until the 3rd full week of preseason is over to simultaneously maximize information and minimize injury risks. If that is the case, we need to make sure that we have enough of a committment that we can finish the draft in about 10 tens - no more.
Thoughts?

First of all, congrats to BS! It's awesome that everything just fell into place like that. Best wishes to you and your family!
As for the draft, I have mixed feelings. I agree with Bronco Billy 100% in principle, but based on last year's experience, I'm not sure how well it's going to work in practice with end of summer vacations, back to school, and Labor Day weekend. The slow drafts are kind of fun, but would we be better off agreeing on a day and time and getting it done in one shot with a live draft? If not, then I think we need to give it at least two weeks. I don't have any plans to go out of town and I have full access at work, so I can draft as fast or as slow as you guys want to, but it's just a thought.

I agree with your thoughts here, and I guess I'm trying to gage access that people will have during a draft. The less access people have, the more time it will take, and vice-versa.

I'm all for knocking out a fast paced draft and should be available to do that. If it gets too close to the start of the season to wrap it up, it will make the pre-season waiver period all that much shorter if we're holding that up at all.

I think we look to be targeting an early start on Monday, August 24th unless I miss my guess. The last game of preseason week 2 is the Jets v the Ravens, and without dropping names it seems to be fairly safe to be able to get underway before that game kicks off Monday night. All other games go off on Saturday or before. In fact, we could probably crank it up on Sunday morning, August 23rd if we would like.
I'd still like to resolve the preseason injury policy to early draft picks if we could - if we determine we need a policy at all. That discussion is going on in the All Pro Draft thread below that I created.

Two questions:
1.) The rules at the beginnng of the thread indicate that draft order is based on the dice rolls but last year, at least in some divisions, you were able to choose your draft slot based on your roll. In other words, it looks like BigMike will have the high roll. Does that mean he's locked in at first, or does he have his choice of any of the 12 draft slots?
2.) Can we trade draft picks prior to the draft? If so, is this the appropriate thread for throwing out general offers (like trading up or down in the first round)?

There have been draft picks traded in this league before. That's allowed. Before or during the draft. If you want to wait until the draft order is set up, you're allowed to send offers of your picks to others on the MFL site if you'd like.
BB can answer the first question.

The draft dates sounds good. It probably wouldn't be fair for the All Pro division to have their own rules about an injury policy since all the divisions compete against each other during the playoffs.

From TOS in the first post in this thread:
Add all 3 numbers up and the highest total gets 1st pick, draft positions will be determined solely on your roll. Highest to Lowest Roll , Starting with Pick 1(highest) and ending with pick 12(lowest). That seems pretty clear to me - draft order is established by roll.

I see nothing that states we can not trade draft picks. That says to me that unless there is a general consensus against it that draft picks can be traded (if it were disallowed, it is easy to circumvent anyhow - 2 or more owners would just agree which players to draft on what would be traded picks and then trade them subsequent to the draft)
As far as I am concerned - advertise away! You want to encourage offers, take your best shot.

Unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to encourage discussion on it. It would pertain to preseason week 3 games only - figuring that by the time preseason week 4 roles around that owners would have had ample time to draft handcuffs if they felt strongly about it, plus studs figure to play much less if at all in preseason week 4.

Okay, now that the draft order has officially been set and the ability to trade draft picks has been confirmed....
I'm interested in swapping first and second round draft picks (1.2 and 2.11) with someone picking in the bottom half of the draft. If anybody's interested, just shoot me a PM.
