I think a slow draft is the only way we're going to satisfy everyone. If you want, list dates that do not work for you and I can see if a day can be found. I kind of like a slow draft, so I am leaning that way anyway. I think starting with 24th would be no problem to finish. 8 hour limit per pick for the first couple rounds and then drop as needed depending on how fast it is going.

We can draft as soon as everyone gets their number. It is a little concerning that it is taking some guys this long though....hopefully it doesn't continue through the rest of the year.

Well we have nine, maybe we can find new owners, shouldn't take a week to
roll dice, how long will it take them to draft?

My concern is not just that they haven't rolled their dice, but they haven't even checked in. Does anyone know if they paid?

I'm all for being patient, but we do need to go ahead and set some time lines. If we wait too long, we won't be able to find replacements. Is there a waiting list that we can pull from? Sometimes, It's a good idea to make sure the folks on the waiting list are still interested in case we have to go to Plan B.

I make the motion that we go ahead and set a cut off date. I motion that if we haven't heard from our missing colleagues by 8:00 PM EST August 17th, then we should consider pulling folks from the waiting list. We should send the missing members another e-mail with this info and cc: tos.

There's still plenty of time, but I just want to get a plan of action going. Thoughts?

as far as Draft date, I will be on vacation from 8/16-8/21 , but will have daily access to internet. So i should have no problem if and when draft starts.

i am ready to draft also. i will pay on friday. i work 10 hour days so i dont know about only an 8 hour clock. i will check on the draft whenever home.

It will be a 12 hour clock and you can pre-select. I've used it on a 16 team league and it runs pretty nice.

I meant notifications that the cutoff was this Friday if they don't respond. Remember, this is the Peewee league, so there's not necessarily a lot of old Huddler vets here. A lot of people think it's crazy that I've already had three drafts in my other leagues. Some folks are used to playing in leagues where they draft like the day before the season starts. I know one league where they draft right before the Thursday night opening game.

I'm fine with that. I usually like to wait until a bit later in the preseason but if that's what everyone is good with, let's do it.

I would rather wait until the 24th, but I'm not sure how long it will take, so I'd rather go sooner than later.

I hear you. And knowing that the league as a whole will want to run one cycle of bidding and FCFS through prior to the start of the season, we'd really be cutting it close. However, if you want to wait a bit longer we can start later in the week next week versus on Monday, like Friday the 21st. That would give us 12-13 days before Labor Day weekend and that would be more than enough time. Also The league as a whole could run the first round of bidding from Sunday, Sept. 6th at 1 PM (or right after the last draft is through) until Wed. Sept. 9th at 10PM and then start FCFS right after that.

Wasn't the Pee-Wee draft supposed to start today? Or are we holding it off for now? Regardless, why isn't the timer on for all other drafts?

The clock is set to start at 8pm EST. Looks like the Practice Squad finished their draft and the other leagues start within a week.

8pm Eastern. What do you mean by "timer on?" As far as I know it's a 12 hour timer as soon as draft starts. That can't be changed between divisions; only draft start date/time can differ.

Now I'm a little concerned that not everyone will know the timer is starting today. Maybe not enough lead time. Timer does not run at night or weekends. Maybe I should push it off until Thursday. At some point people have to start checking in or too bad???

The semi-pro draft is currently drafting as I thought we should be and it says "Timer is currently off" which it shouldn't be. The timer should be running for them and us.



I also have a bad feeling about this Pee-Wee draft as things feel a bit disjointed. It doesn't seem like we have everything or everyone together and on the same page. And that needs to be the case if we're going to have a successful, smooth draft. Few have been chiming in.

Well that is half the league responding. I'm thinking about delaying the start for one more day to give more a chance to see it is beginning. Not sure what we will do if it starts and timer runs out on someone that hasn't responded???
