The reason I ask is that I am assuming some of us (at least I have been) using the many MFL menus as tools when drafting... namely the "Top Performers/Player Stats" for 2008/2007, which gives you an idea how different positions/players would have scored in this format in past years. However, in looking at this, I'm thinking we've got at least one scoring category listed in duplicate... This is the current league scoring, as it is set up in MFL:

QUOTE
Event Range (Low-High) Points Test?
Number of Passing TDs 0-10 4 points each Test
Passing Yards -50-999 1 point for every 20 Test
Pass Interceptions Thrown 0-10 -3 points each Test
Passing 2 Pointers 0-10 1 point each Test
Number of Rushing TDs 0-10 6 points each Test
Rushing Yards -50-999 1 point for every 10 Test
Rushing 2 Pointers 0-10 2 points each Test
Number of Receiving TDs 0-10 6 points each Test
Receiving Yards -50-999 1 point for every 10 Test
Receptions 0-99 .50 points each Test
Receiving 2 Pointers 0-10 1 point each Test
Length of Field Goal Made 0-39 3 Test
Length of Field Goal Made 40-49 4 Test
Length of Field Goal Made 50-100 5 Test
Extra Points 0-10 1 point each Test
Fumbles 0-10 -2 points each Test
Fumbles on Offense 0-10 -2 points each Test
Fumbles on Defense 0-10 -2 points each Test

Fumble Recoveries (from Opponent) 0-10 2 points each Test
Forced Fumbles 0-10 3 points each Test
Interceptions Caught 0-10 3 points each Test
Passes Defensed 0-99 1.5 points each Test
Blocked Punts 0-10 2 points each Test
Tackles 0-99 2 points each Test
Assists 0-99 1.0 point each Test
Sacked a QB 0-25 3 points each Test
Safeties 0-10 4 points each Test

When comparing some QB's from 2008 and 2007, I found this little nugget from one of Eli Manning's games in 2007 (week 16 @BUF):

QUOTE
5.000 111 Passing Yards
-10.000 5 Fumbles
-6.000 2 Interceptions
-10.000 5 Fumbles on Offense
-21.000 Subtotal

Manning scored a whopping negative 21 points for the week, mainly due to the fact that he had five fumbles. But, it appears he was charged -2 points for each of those fumbles TWICE, for a -20 points total in fumbles. That doesn't seem right... does it?

I'm not sure about the rest of the scoring rules, but this one stands out to me... Does someone want to take a look at this? I can help if needed... I'm going to be working on the schedule (per Connie's request) this weekend, so I would be glad to double-check the scoring as well. I just didn't want to mess with it without bringing this to the league's attention first, as it will have an affect on the aforementioned stats/menus on MFL. smile.gif

Good catch Gopher that was incorrect - there is only one catagory for fumbles now that effects all positions and won't double up. Sorry that slipped by me.

I also noticed that it should be set up 1.5 per 1/2 sack rather than 3 per sack. So that has also been corrected.
Gopher
Not a huge deal... I don't think those errors would have thrown the rankings off by that much. After all, how often does a QB fumble 5 times in a game? unsure.gif Anyway, I was just pointing it out, more than anything else. Thanks for fixing so quickly. smile.gif

gopher is working on it. John is still learning MFL and so am I - I have a pretty good understanding of it - but the double header thing so everyone can play everyone else was beyond my knowledge level at this point.

Schedule will be done by this weekend...

- First round of divisional games weeks 1-3.
- Non-divisional games weeks 3-10 (week 3 is a double-header)... this means no bye-weeks for divisional matchups.
- Second round of divisional games weeks 11-13.
- Playoffs weeks 14-16.

whacko2.gif Good thing Connie and Gopher have this under control.... wink.gif cause I sure don't! MFL is great, but it isn't all that easy to get set up. I have only commished at CBS... piece of cake compared to this.

Anything else need to be set up on MFL?

- Waivers... did we decide on worst to first, with a FCFS after it runs each week?

- Waivers based on worst to first total points or record, then points?

- Will there be a waivers run before the first week of games?

- Trades setup?

Let me know if you need me to work on any of the above, or anything else... the schedule took me about 10 minutes, so I think I could take care of anything else we need relatively quickly as well. smile.gif

Thanks Gopher - really appreciate it - if you can just double check for anything that doesn't look right.
waivers should be set up worst to first with FCFS after it runs - could you check that out for me?

I think we should discuss when we want to open waivers - before the first game or aftert the first (which is the I have it set up now)

trades are set-up (I traded twice during the draft) they need one of the commissoners to approve.

also if you could check that players with a Thursday game day are locked by gametime - other players locked prior to their gametimes - I'm not sure that is set-up correctly either.

With 40-man rosters, I'm not sure we need a waivers run prior to the first week... Then again, a lot can change between now and then, so I guess it doesn't hurt. If you want, I can set one up for whenever you want. I'll double-check everything else as well.

John and I think it might be a good idea for a waiver run that week before the games start. Slick can makeup his picks then.

I think it should be in the opposite order of the draft then FCFS.

Once the season starts - worst to best then FCFS.

Thanks Gopher for all your hard work!

This draft started around Aug 1.... since then there have been some injuries, some other surprises, and while with 40 man rosters most of us have quality depth, a last chance to put band aids on rosters before the season starts isn't a bad thing to do.

Connie and I discussed this, as she mentioned in the previous post. I expect very little activity in the pre-season waiver window, but we think it's a good idea to let owners shore up their rosters in case of the late injury bug bites.

Looking over the bones left after 40 rounds.... unsure.gif anyone who needs to make a waiver move is in deep kimchee.
