I've been scouring the rules that are posted in this forum, and comparing them to what is set up in MFL... there are a few inconsistencies. Rather than just arbitrarily editing the original rules in this forum (I want to somehow leave a record of anything that is changed), I'm going to leave that thread alone (to be used as a reference... a constitution of sorts), and copy/paste them here. Then, as I find anything that needs to be clarified/re-worded, I will address it with the group. Granted, most of the inconsistencies are fairly obvious, and probably don't call for any interpretation... however, anything that is not clear can be called to a league-wide vote if anyone objects to my "interpretation." One example would be:

- The original rules state that eight teams make the playoffs, although later on in the thread it is stated that the number of playoff teams is six. I would like to re-word the rules themselves, so there is no confusion, especially for the new owners. I don't want anyone getting the impression they're in the post-season when they're not. wink.gif

Please keep in mind that my intention is NOT to change the rules of this league. My only goal in this process is to make the rules more clear, so that there is nothing left open for interpretation. In doing so, I am hoping that we eliminate any chance of there being any future confusion or uncertainty, in regards to the rules of this league. smile.gif

The next post in this thread will be an exact copy of the rules, from the "original" rules thread. That post will be used as a reference, and nothing more. The third post in this thread will be the copy that I will edit as needed. Please feel free to post in this thread if you have any questions or comments... Like I mentioned above, anything that is disputed can be put to a vote if necessary. smash.gif

...The McCardell Rule: if an offense suddenly becomes the defense, and then scores a TD, by your starting that D/ST, you are awarded the six points.

Waivers:
Waiver Rank:
Waiver Rank will be done by assessing which team has the worst won/loss record down to the best won/loss record. Worst gets first dibs on the Wire. For the first week, the Rank will be set in reverse order of the draft.

Waiver Schedule
Waivers will run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. From Thursday through roster submission is a Free Agent Period where no ranking is necessary for your claim to be processed. You will immediately pick up the player you've requested. However, the dropped player does go to Waivers and he sits there for two days.

Free Agent Signings may take place during Playoffs.
Teams not in the Playoffs may NOT make moves during the Playoffs.

Trades: are allowed.

Any player you trade can not be reacquired by the original owner, except by standard waivers, for a period of 6 weeks

Playoffs:
1. Free agent pickups will be allowed through the end of the Season.
2. Teams not in the Playoffs may NOT make moves during the Playoffs. You are not playing, you have no need to make moves.
3. 8 Teams make the Playoffs. The top team in each Division and 4 Wildcards.
4. Wildcards are decided by
a. Best Record
b. if two teams tie for best record than it goes to head to head Record between those two teams.
c. if two teams are tied and split their head-to-head series, the tiebreaker then goes to best division record.
d. Three way ties will go to the Team with the best head to head winning percentage against those three teams. Winning percentage is total wins divided by the total amount of games played against each other.

Playoff Tiebreakers:
1. Head to head between the two teams
2. Division record
3. Total points scored
4. Total points scored (head to head only)
5. Total Bench Scoring

IR RULE:

You can not activate a player in the same week you put him on IR.

You can not put a player on IR in the same week you acquired him.

If you don't activate a player on IR the week after he has stats you lose him.

A player qualifies for IR by being listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL on the official NFL injury report.

Suspended players are not allowed to go on the IR. They are not on their team's IR so they shouldn't be on yours.

Money: 75% to League Champion, 25% to Second Place (loser of Championship Game)

I think that's all. Let me know if you need clarification or if I've left something off

A few notes regarding the updated rules:

- I clarified that the schedule would include two divisional games with each divisional opponent, meaning we play only 7/12 teams outside of our division.

- Regarding playoff seeding, I interpret "lowest seed remaining" to mean that the #1 seed plays the worse team, regardless of who wins the first round. In other words, if #6 beats #3, the top seed would face #6, not the winner of 4/5.

- Please note the part in bold, regarding waivers... there will be one waivers run on the last Tuesday evening prior to the NFL kickoff.

The only two "issues" I really found with the rules were as follows:

1) Scoring... Just be aware that D/ST scoring is set up so that teams get fantasy points based on offensive points allowed, not just simply points allowed. Whether it was originally set up that way intentionally or by accident, it is what it is. The league scoring has been set up that way all along, so I'm not going to try to change it now... I'm simply pointing it out, as it does definitely make D/ST scoring more significant than many other leagues.

2) As was discussed here, there were some questions raised regarding tie-breakers last year, particularly leading up to the fantasy playoffs. I'm going to start a separate thread on this particular topic, only because I think it is significant enough that everyone should see it (if possible), and it might even need to come to a vote, if we don't have a consensus on how it should be handled. smash.gif

Everything else should be good to go. smile.gif
