creap and i would like to make a trade. he gives me rodgers and i give him my 3rd overall pick (which is my 2nd pick in the broader draft ... i have an "extra" pick since i'm only keeping two players).

az, can you process this?

I was in a local keeper league for 2 years before it folded. Nobody ever wanted to make trades. So I'm confused by this. I'm not biatching at all. Just need this explained.
If ton is getting Rodgers, he is essentially trading his first pick in the real draft, correct? Then shouldn't Rodgers be considered a keeper for ton and he is now keeping 3?

Or:

Creepers gets an extra draft pick for trading Rodgers. If he's keeping 3 players(don't know how many he's keeping), then how does Rodgers not get thrown back into the pool after keepers are declared? This always confused me. Just wanted to know

Like I said, not biatching, just wanted to make this clear for future reference. I'm a dumbass when it comes to this stuff

I'm not sure who tonorator plans to keep now, but unless I'm missing something, Rodgers has to be one of his 3 keepers if he wants to hold on to him.

Basically for draft day purposes he'll get my 18th round pick and I'll get his 2nd rounder in the open draft (after everyone has 3 keepers). This is because of the 18 player limit for each team.

Clear as mud now? whacko2.gif

ok, here's how we'll do this. you guys go to the 2009 league site, and propose/accept the trade simply as the two picks (creaper's 18.x for ton's 2.x). then ton, just list rodgers among your keepers, and he'll get loaded in.

and jax....ton is essentially giving up his third round supplemental pick (because he has to use his third keeper slot now to get any value for rodgers), and the 2.x pick in the regular draft to get rodgers. yes, creaper would have to throw rodgers back, so he essentially gives up nothing here and gets a free pick. but ton feels it's worth it to ensure he gets rodgers.

well now wait, i didn't know it worked that way. i thought i kept my supplemental pick. if i lose that pick, i don't want to do the deal because i don't have rodgers valued as a 3rd round pick and wouldn't keep him there. i thought i could do the deal, lose my 2nd round pick in the overall draft, but keep my supplemental pick. so if it is as you describe and i lose that supplemental pick (essentially a 3rd round pick), then i just can't do the deal.

You have to lose the supplemental round pick, unless you are not keeping one of the other 2 guys you mentioned.

So your keepers are Gore, AJ and Rodgers, you get no supplemental pick and you trade away your second round pick.

If this deal falls through, Creaper I'll make you an offer on CJ. biggrin.gif

Thanks, Az. Sorry ton. But hey, at least you know ahead of time instead of finding out when it's too late.
