The disadvantage I see by dragging it out is that it's a bit unfair to those that pick early and fast because injuries, etc from the pre-season games & benefits those that wait on their picks for more practice/games/news to come out. A "slow" draft should take place between games over a set time frame or after the games and rosters are set - IMO.
The Duckett/Edge news out of Seattle is the perfect example of the drafting team having an advantage.
However, setting a clock for a few hours to keep the draft moving doesn't appeal to me either. I know several in this league pre-draft, but I have a difficult time doing that as my position selections change based on picks just before me.
Overall, if we can't do it live, this worked great, IMO.
BTW, my comment about starting later was just for reference next year if we have to do this again.
