Caveman_Nick
TheCMB suggested that he would prefer a live draft, and IIRC had the same suggestion last year. Because our rules process is somewhat exclusionary to the league members, I wanted to make sure that people know suggestions are always heard if not acted upon. We had a brief discussion in the commish forum and it looks like the best thing to do would be to grab opinions and work from there.

I understand some folks don't care, but please vote either way, and then post in here that you voted (not necessary to indicate which way, I just want to be able to compare the count).

Live.

I feel as though I am at a disadvantage being out and about for my job with limited ability to see the flow of the draft. I rely on Nick to help me catch up and find out who has been taken before I pick, but I'd like to have everyone on the same ground, knocking something out in a few hours.

The few times in my "huddle life" where we were able to get everyone together for a live draft it was a blast. Haven't been able to do it again though for at least 5 years.

That said, seems to me for the most part, these HAG leagues seem to be the fastest moving drafts I participate in every year. So in that sense, sometimes they seem pretty live to me :P

Voted. I think a live draft would be more fun, but I have no problems with a slow draft.

The biggest concern is schedling. Last week I average a couple hours per pick in a BOTH league as I was slammed with work and last minute meetings, laying off people I care about, etc. This week, I am more available, but 3 days a week I coach pee wee football and am not available until 9pm or after on those days.

I guess I prefer the slow format as long as it doesn't become as slow as my last one, which admittedly was my problem.

I voted slow.

Plain and simple....getting this league wrangled up for the last couple of years has been difficult. The thought of trying to get a live draft organized is laughable.

Truth be told, I was planning on stepping down as commish after this season, so it wouldn't be my headache. Just remember that it could be you having to organize that draft... wink.gif

I voted slow only because my schedule changes everyday and its hard to nail down any future commitment. Compared to other "slow" drafts i'm in, this one is moving along pretty well.

What he said.

I voted slow but I would say to speed it up somewhat maybe we have a 1 week window where the draft will take place and the clock is set to something like 2 hours for a pick to be made.

In fairness to the folks here and their drafting habits...

the draft took 6ish days last year
8ish days the year before
5ish days the year before that
and 3 days in it's first year.

We have only gone over a week once, and only by a day, and never have used a timer.

I think things go along quick enough. I hope to keep everyone in touch when the draft is going on, and when that happens the draft is quick IMO.
RFFL Chump
I also voted slow. I would love to do a live draft, but life has so many things going, it just doesn't always work.

This has seemed more like a live draft, except for my delays bag.gif, than others I have done.

You all are quick.......

voted slow

for all of the above reasons already given.
Caveman_Nick
seven confirmed slow votes. HOT looks like it might go the other way, in which case we would still have a topic of discussion whacko2.gif

I am - but I only voted once, and it was for fast draft. So I'm not the culprit! wink.gif
