Smooth Like Doggy 2009
I think there are a couple teams that I don't want to play, but I'll take this team.
Starters:
QB: Garrard - I like a bounce back year for him, but had targeted Palmer and Schaub who both went before I thought they would.
RB: LT, McFadden, Wells are my most likely starters. Some risk here, but great upside IMO. I was very happy to see Wells at 1.09.
WR: Roddy White, Witten - Very solid duo IMO. I'm drinking the Witten-with-nOwens juice.
D: Dallas - Meh. I wanted San Diego. Bah.
K: Vinatieri - whatever
Backups:
Fred Jackson - a little insurance for first few games of the year. I'm a little surprised he lasted until the 12th.
James Davis - Great preseason so far. Might make something of himself even in RBBC.
Jonathan Stewart - I may kick myself here. Tough call, but I think Carolina is a 60/40 rushing team at heart and the 40 is worth a bye week start.
Greg Olsen - A TE sure, but I think he might really blossom this year with Cutler. I expect him to be the #1 receiver in Chicago.
Donnie Avery - 2nd year guy taking the next step up?
Bryant Johnson, Austin Miles - sleepers or first to be cut?
Moneyman 2009
I love my WR's but HATE my RB situation
Starters:
QB. Brees - Stud ....nuff said
RB. T Jones, Graham, Morris -

Hopefully Jones or Washington do well enough to keep Shonn on the bench. Graham or Morris could possibly start or get enough significant time to help out some.
WR. R. Moss, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne - All should have very good years, I will say myself I think I have the deepest WR core

K- Gostkowski - He's a freakin kicker, but might as well get the best there is
D- NY Giants- I wanted the Ravens or Steelers but Ursa and Rhino beat me to them.

Backups:
QB. Eli - Not very pretty fantasy stats but I will hopefully only need him 1 week
RB - Washington, Graham, Morris - very ugly here
WR - Chambers, Crayton, Curtis, Hixon - very nice 4-7 Wr's which could allow me to only start 1 RB
K - Tynes - He is a freakin kicker
I don't like this team as much as last years since I have no RB but I think I should still hold my own.

Bear Necessities - Ursa
Haven't put these in starter order though most are obvious. Still mulling over the two flex positions.
QB
Schaub - deliberately went for the Schaub - Johnson hookup. I think Schaub will have a great year for a team that will improve from last year
Cassel - got hurt a few days after drafting. Not sure how he is yet but I only need him once (hopefully).
RB
Rice - breakout year? Or not? Either way a no brainer keeper
Felix Jones - more keeper potential especially if Barber goes down
Mendenhall - I think he'll make large inroads into FWPs carries
Julius Jones - at least he's the #1 RB there
Kevin Jones - If Forte goes down, this will be gold
Cadillac Williams - who knows what happens in TB but no reason not to take a flyer
WR
Andre Johnson - stud
Berrian - potential stud if Minny get the QB play right
Smith (NYG) - lots of catches, lots of yards, few TDs
Harvin - second Minny receiver (hedged bet against Berrian)
PK
Akers - meh
Def
Baltimore - had a lot of success with the Bears a couple years back when they were my top scorer

so thought I'd grab the #1 DEF
Tampa - bye week fodder
TWO FLUSH MINIMUM - 2009
Projected starters in bold.
QBs: P.Rivers, S.Hill, M.Sanchez - Happy w/ Rivers, I think Hill will be throwing alot against some bad NFC West teams, Sanchez is insurance w/ a lively arm.
RBs: B.Jacobs, D,Williams, R.Brown, F.Taylor, L.Betts - 3 very solid RBs, the RB bench is likely to get significant touches.
WRs: L.Fitzgerald, W.Welker, S.Holmes, D.Hester, C.Schilens, J.Morgan - Again, very solid starters. Depth could really pan out as well.
PKs: M.Crosby
DEF: Philly & Cincy - Philly is solid & aggressive, Cincy-not so much, but they play Oakland on Philly's bye week
With 6 starters on my RBs/WRs, I should have no issues w/ flex or bye weeks.
Gomer's Pyle - 2009
Perhaps the worst team I've fielded since I've been in the league. Just had no keepers of note, still haven't had the ammo to turn this team around.
QB's: Romo and Campbell: I'm pretty sure Romo will play everygame, so that's a no brainer for me. I think he'll be a top 5-6 guy and that's all I can ask for.
RB's: Bradshaw, Lynch, Slaton were the keepers. Taking a calculated risk that Bradshaw increases his workload quite a bit. If he does, I think this RB corp will surprise. The backups all have a chance to contribute...Hightower, Williams, and Moreno...who is more of an investment to try to turn this team around.
WR's: I hate them all. I think they all can contribute, and if Marshall surprises, I can see trotting out these guys. Maclin is an investment, so that's better than what I've had before. Edwards will rebound, Walter is good enough.
K/D/ST: Byes later in the year will allow me some flexibility.
I think with what I had to work with, I've created a team that is under the radar and may very well produce some weeks. I think the ceiling for this team is a 6 seed, but most likely it's less than that.
QB-Brady, Favre. Hope not to use Favre at all except 1 bye week of course.
RB-Turner, Portis, Bush, McCoy, Norwood, Fargas. High upside depth with Bush and McCoy. Norwood to handcuff, and Fargas incase McFadden goes down. Really wanted Betts to handcuff Portis but didn't get him in time.
WR-Bowe, Royal, T.O., Cotchery, Burleson, Heywayd-Bey. Probably start the season with a WR in the flex, also will probably switch flex to a RB if Bush or McCoy start hot. Cotchery is the #1 WR, if Sanchez is hot he should see alot of targets. Burleson has looked extremely quick and in great shape after missing all last year. There's already some solid targets in Seattle but he should be solid for a bye week or two. DHB is probably the number one in Oakland with Chaz's broken foot. Somebody has to catch the ball there, who knows.
K-Kaeding, he's a kicker, but he's one of the best.
D-S.D., It's a D, but it's one of the best.

I think I heard today he has a sprained MCL. Won't start the season, might miss a decent amount of time. Sorry.

Yeah, I know but then again it is only one week I need a sub for.....I hope.

I read 2 - 4 weeks.

Men in Tights 2009
QB - Rodgers Ryan - Being a homer I love having Rodgers, and really like Ryan and hope I only need him 1-week
RB - P. Thomas, Forte - Addai, Scott, Taylor, MaroneyWe will see what happens with Addai and I am hoping Brown pushes him back to stud status. B. Scott was taken as a potential keeper/trade bait with hopes for this year, and round it out with C. Taylor just in case, and Laurence Maroney as either waiver fodder or maybe he realizes he has talent.
WR - Houshyourmama, R Williams, Gates Driver and Breaston coming off the bench. I really like this group even with TJ in Seattle.
K - Elam. Indoor kicker is always nice. Folk will be cut
Def- Green Bay - Buffalo- Homer pick here but I like the way they have looked with a few key players missing and am hoping Capers does a great job in the regular season. Buffalo was picked because I think they have a good matchup (cant think of it) when the pack are on bye and GB has a very early bye week.
We will see what happens but I really need Pierre Thomas to get and stay healthy.
Wow....for owners, submit lineup....and a big screen popped up and said....

Did it have anything to do with giving up way too much for a thug?

Sorry, just seemed like a high price to pay for him.
You know, when I went to Owners/Submit Lineup, this screen popped up:

Hat, just because you wanted to offer less, doesn't make it a bad deal. I actually thought (and still think) that it was more than fair.

Kind tuff to say Gil got a great deal considering he will miss 1/3 of the regular season with the 4 game suspension and all

Just have your wife set your lineup, if she is as good at this as she is pickems you have nothing to worry about

Ah but our league isn't all about
this year........
In hindsight, it was not a good deal for me. I could have done much better without losing a draft pick and I could have kept Lance Moore as a 10th and been in better shape out of the gate.
That's OK...I needed to take this year and try to get better for the future, and I'm feeling decent enough about moving forward.
Howard took advantage of me.
Don't even remember my roster. Have to look it up. I just know I didn't like it after the draft.
ROCKIN MTN RHINOS
Starting Lineup
QB -- Matchups I like DMcNabb and MHasselbeck this year. Good value, imho. But, reality says they'll both be injured and game-time-decisions by week 3.
RB -- Kevin Smith, Willie Parker. Hearing great things about Kevin Smith's off-season program, and Fast Willie is playing for a new contract. And PIT has an easy schedule. But, reality says that Kevin Smith plays for Detroit, and WParker went 25 yds on 14 touches in week 1.
WR -- GJennings, ABoldin, AGonzalez. GJennings is studly, ABoldin is playing for new contract/team, and nothing keeps him out of a game; and AGonzalez is the new RWayne. Reality says that ABoldin is already questionable in week 1 and his hammy will bother him all season long; GJennings is wasted on this roster; and AGonzalez is white! How many top 10 WRs in the past years have been white?
PK -- Kris Brown. Great leg. Gets a lot of chances from 50+ yds. Reality says that HOU had an awful pre-season -- the offense did not look in-sync.
DEF -- PIT. Solid unit all the way around. Low-scoring games. Sacks galore. Easier schedule. Reality says that Troy Palomalu (sp?) will miss 3-6 weeks.
Bench
Ah, who cares. Can I roll the dice for next year's draft position now?
Bleh.

Hey, I never said it was a bad deal FOR YOU

But to me personally...no way I'm giving up two draft picks for a piece of crap person first and a guy who is suspended for 1/4 of the season. He's a good talent, no question, but my offer was fair. I'm not bitter that you accepted his offer, it was a better deal for you. All I said was that it wasn't good FOR Gil...and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way.
Good game this week Howard, looking forward to a rematch. Good luck this year.
He used some new york accountant voodo mind fok on me.
I'll see if he's worth something towards the end of the year.
