We are close but still have to do the accounting for late rosters etc and make sure all dbln totals are correct. Sorry we wanted to have it ready to go for tonight.
Once we get this up and running we will have smooth sailing! Thanks to Gopher for helping me with the waiver process setup on MFL!

Just to clarify... The first run will be next Wednesday at 8 PM EST. However, owners can SUBMIT their blind bid requests starting this evening.
This should not be a problem... I will try to submit a blind bid request myself, just to make sure MFL accepts it.
FYI - Copied from DWIII....

Looks like our first run went successfully... I will double-check them tomorrow to make sure. I would suggest we keep track of $$ on the league forum, as a backup, until we're 100% confident that MFL is solid. It does look like the $ amounts bidded were deducted from the respective teams' balances, though, so I think we're good to go. Just a couple of notes regarding this:
- You can view your $$ balance on the "Standings" page on MFL or by viewing the "Accounting" report under Reports > Franchise... your available balance is at the bottom, where it says "Total."
- Do not pay attention to what MFL says when you are submitting your blind bid requests... Under the "Comments" box, it should say "Right now, you have $xxx available to spend on blind bidding..."
This amount is not accurate... MFL forced me to enter a "maximum" amount for each franchise to spend on blind bids during the year. I could not figure out a way around this, so I just entered an arbitrary amount of $200 per owner. This is irrelevant to our accounting totals/balances, and should not affect anything as the season progresses.
Let me know if you have questions/concerns.

F'n horse manure that this was not pinned.
Guys.....you asked us to use the comments boxes to declare salaries. I did that for each round. (BTW...the "comments" do not show up when we go look at transactions and are signed in.)
But only ONE of the three FAs I won had a salary assigned. Biermann and Hauschka still need their salaries posted. Thanks!
I just took a look around and it seems most of the FAs don't have salaries yet.
contract years doesn't work, does this mean we need to go back to the old system?
or
are we going to have some 3-day window to post on the message board contracts more than 1yr. defaulting to 1yr if no post.
you can just leave 1yr contracts (most waiver picksups) as 0yr... wouldn't hurt a thing. Bigger contracts would need some manual attention.
I'm for giving the commishes less work, but it looks like something if not all needs to be done manually in this league
Salaries will still need to be assigned manually... I think the whole point of the MFL blind bidding is so that nobody has to process waivers manually each week, by looking at multiple emails. I like Tecmo's idea... give everyone something like 48 hours to post contract lengths. If not, they default to 1 year.
i guess if we left contracts as zero, it would screw up salary caps. maybe give everyone on waiver wire 1yr
I think the toughest (most time consuming) part of FA was figuring out who got which player. If MFL is now doing that part for the commishes......certainly they can manually put in the salary years......right? I'm not trying to make more work for you guys, but you now should have LESS work.....correct?
I don't want all FAs defaulting to 1 year. That's ridiculous.
If the comments section isn't working or capturing our notes, then set up a post every week after FA for everyone to post salaries to the FAs they acquired when MFL assigned them.
Now that I'm thinking about it.......this actually works BETTER. Most of the time, you'd assign a larger contract to a first choice guy than you would an alternative pick.
Simple enough.
Yes... It's far less work. MFL "sorts" everything out and determines which owners get what players. That is the most time-consuming part, and it's now done by the site. As far as the contracts are concerned... owners can not see "comments" under the transactions page, but the commish can see the comments by going to the "Previously Processed Waivers" page. So, really, the contracts thing is a non-issue... it's no different than it was before. Owners SHOULD put the contract years for each player in the comments (just like they would have with the old email format). Same thing happens as when we used email... if you forget to put the contract length in the comments, you have a pre-determined amount of time to declare the contract length, by posting in the league forum, or the player goes back to the FA pool.
i didn't know MFL had notes to put the contracts in. i checked out the transactions page and saw everyone had zero contracts. misunderstanding by me, i didn't know commishes can see the hidden notes
Thanks Gopher. I'm a commish in a few leagues, but none where Blind Bidding is used. I wasn't aware that the commish could read our comments.
I only know that regular owners cannot see the comments when checking under transactions.......not even their own.
So.....cool then. There are always a few little kinks when making a big change. Just as long as the salaries get done and no one is running on an illegal roster.

this needs to be changed to 40, otherwise MFL will let bids go through that violate our rules, which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal but you lose all the "losing bids" for that player in the process.Thats where it gets messy, previously processed waivers doesn't show losing bids.
MFL blind bidding works great...just not for leagues like ours.

But if you change it to 40 those that want to pick up a player to put on taxi squad - MFL won't let you. The one thing we give up is seeing what other people bid when we go to the automated system. But the pros of having it automated outweigh the cons. You wouldn't beleive how much time it saves.

Believe me it takes more than an hour or two sometimes to sift through emails etc and everything that MFL does automaticallly.

Under transactions report, you are correct... no way to see losing bid amounts. Under "previously processed waivers", however, the commissioner has the ability to see all bid amounts, even those that lost. So, for the sake of people being able to acquire taxi squad players, I think we need to leave the limit at 53. If somebody violates the roster limit, the commissioner has the ability to reverse that transaction, and then award that player to the next highest bid (assuming someone else bid on that player).
So, really, the key to this whole waivers process is someone confirming that all acquisitions were legal... Still a little bit of work, but not nearly as time-consuming as doing the entire waivers process manually, like before.

I'm just trying to warn you thats all. It's already been effed up in a BotH league here.
