So I say: well done Gentlemen! Norris is an official dynasty league, the likes of which none of us had done prior if I am correct? I’ve found it challenging, and certainly responsible for my tracking rookies so much more closely than I have before.
So without further ado…
4 Star Sweetness @ Hammer of the Gods The Matt Ryan Era has begun for 4 Star Sweetness.! Yes, the last time that was proclaimed (that time it was the Kyle Orton Era) he was carried off with a busted ankle for 6 weeks or so. I forget exactly because I’ve blacked it out. Anyways, does Sweetness have it’s answer at QB they’ve been searching for…4 years? They sure better hope so because his WRs of Bryant, Ochostinko and Wayne look positively ghetto against the Moss/Colston/Jennings meat grinder. And that’s being generous in overlooking what MIGHT be a mis-matched back field, though I am of the (homerish) school of thought that LT is far from finished. It would appeara at first glance that Sweetness has an aedge in the TE/PK/D areas, but being week 1 who the hell knows.

Motown Maulers @ ARodg Says F You Oof. Our rebuilding squad hits what I’ll call our Lunch Pail squad. As in old school nuts and bolts. That’s a nasty 2-2-2 lineup ARodg brings to the table. I do like the cagey picks for Motown at QB/RB/RB as fantasy wise it wouldn’t be a stretch to see them matchup against his opoponent’s point for point. But WRs will do Motown in, unless the Panthers REALLY blow up the Eagles to make up for it, which is to say “not this weekend.”

Color Purple @ 1957 and Waiting More like “The Color Upside”…Shaun Hill, upside! Ronnie Brown, upside! Cotchery? Upside! Shiancoe? You get the idea. 1957 has it anchor at QB, and Michael Turner has looked ridiculous in the preseason. Johnson came up a little light in the points department this week, but he was fun to watch the other night and things look fine there. These teams seem evenly matched in the WR department and more or less down to Defenses, really. 1957 should carry the day on the strength of his QB/RB/RB punch and match up everywhere else. Hill needs Crabtree to report before he can continue his impressive pts/game streak from last year.

Ditka’s Demons @ Hurricane Lombardi I like this matchup. Ditka’s played the right Steelers and Lombardi the wrong one. Fred Taylor should very well turn in a solid 100/1 game. Kurt Warner should continue his HoF path. Starting Bennett has to kind of hurt, but I do think that Ditka’s backfield bears watching: Slaton is prime fantasy material, and the Seahawks could hold the keys to some teams this year, especially those with Julius Jones. He can be an extremely fun player to watch, along with being a maddening one. I’m going with Ditka’s here, in part because of the results and also that Lombardi’s lineup feels a little lacking near the bottom…need a PK?

Titletown of Lambeau @ The Great Grabowski’s Well well, look who hung onto Cutler and look what happened to him! You’ve got a nice looking backfield to go along with them and then…you take the Norris thing a little too far with an all NFC North wideout set. Um, this IS the Black N Blue division, and Devin Hester is still Willie Gault without the hands IMO. That, along with the 20 spot Justin Gage (of all former Bears) makes this the tightest game of the week. Romo should edge Cutler overall, GG strikes back with a dominant RB performance and Megatron in the Superdome is what you want. Shockey is usually good until he gets hurt and the D’s matchup as well.

Game of the Week
Wayne Fontes International Fan Club @ Valhalland Drive SHOOTOUT! Get out of the way folks, this is one of those “I scored the second highest amount of points this week and lost” games. I like WFIFC to be that team. The lineup looks pretty stiff, all run n shoot and all but I look at savage’s lineup and don’t want to play against any player he’s starting on any given week. Ok, Roy Williams isn’t so bad, nor is Holmes but that 28(!) already hurts. WFIFC has the best selection of #2 WRs in the league but will the stud please stand up? Bush is great with PT out this week, and I like McNabb all year long as well. But Rivers, that backfield, Fitz and Lsen look to run up the score this week and every week. Has Valhalland found the magic name AND lineup? We’ll find out by week 14.
