Apologies in advance to Bonehand for inadvertently stepping on his toes!

Season 4 of CBFL is underway. A special welcome goes out to DBaxx (welcome back!) and Ghetto King! Week 1 was strictly division matchups. Let’s go to the recaps and see who prevailed and who failed!

Clucking Birds (221.38) plucked Diggin (169.84)
The Birds rolled out the welcome mat to Diggin this week. Unfortunately, the welcome mat led straight behind the woodshed. To no one’s surprise, CB was led by ADP with 180 yards rushing and 3 TDs. I’m sure most everyone’s already seen it, but ADP had of the most incredible TD runs I’ve ever seen in the game (LINK). Diggin was led by Reggie Wayne with 10 for 162 and a TD, although some roster miscues (goose eggs from Gaines Adams and Paris Lenon) cost him points in the end. On a sad note, the Birds have also lost LB Brian Urlacher for the season, so we’ll have to see if someone can step in and fill that important LB role.
Game Ball: Adrian Peterson – 41.80

Playa Hatas (183.34) held off Dbaxx (170.28)
In the other Cheaters division matchup, Playa Hatas started off his title defense with a ho-hum win over Dbaxx. This game didn’t see any huge individual outbusts from any one player, as both teams played it conservative and decided to focus on the basics for now. Playa was led by Frank Gore who only had 48 total yards but 2 TDs. Dbaxx was led by MJD with 123 total yards and a TD, but was ultimately let down by QB Jake Delhomme and his FIVE TURNOVERS! Mayday!! Mayday!!
Game Ball: Maurice Jones-Drew – 27.90

Huskies (174.90) knocked off Hand of Bone (168.04)
In the Cheaters division, the Huskies survived a furious comeback attempt by Hand of Bone, who trailed by 68 points going into MNF. Sadly, Tom Brady’s heroics of 378 yards and 2 TDs were enough to escape with a win for New England, but not for HoB. The Huskies rolled with the ancient Mr. Favre at QB and that lineup decision almost cost them the win since Joe Flacco scored 34 points while holding a clipboard. In the end, it was huge games from Huskies LBs Thomas Davis and Curtis Lofton that secured the win.
Game Ball: Thomas Davis – 30.00

M & M (291.28) trounced Youre Going Down (189.20)
M & M put the rest of the CBFL on notice starting in week 1 with a 100+ point thrashing of YGD. M & M could seemingly do no wrong this week with a league-high 93.8% efficiency and made a serious run at the CBFL all-time scoring record of 299.44, even after the oversight of not starting a PK. Drew Brees was overheard saying “Who needs a kicker anyway?” after picking apart the lowly Lions with 358 yards passing and SIX TDs. In addition, M & M had balanced scoring all-around with 10 players scoring 15+ points. YGD had an average week but there was nothing he could do to keep pace with M & M. YGD was led by Osi Umenyiora and his quad-fecta of sack, FF, FR, TD, scoring 22.48 in the loss.
Game Ball: Drew Brees – 50.32

Running Aces (194.86) edged out godtomsatan (192.66)
In yet another very close battle between Stealers divisional rivals, the Aces were able to hold off GTS . the Running Aces were led by stud WR Randy Moss, who scored 26.10 (even without scoring a touchdown) and a somewhat unexpected 2 TDs from TE Jeremy Shockey. GTS was led by RB Fred Jackson who had 140 total yards and a TD starting in place of suspended Marshawn Lynch. Godtomsatan also lost WR Anthony Gonzalez to an early injury, which was a huge loss.
Game Ball: Fred Jackson – 29.00

And finally:

THE BASTAGE GAME OF THE WEEK!

Pron Stars (177.38) squeaked by WWWarriors (176.10)
In the other clash between Liars division teams, Pron Stars emerged the victor in a defensive battle that ended up being the 8th closest margin of victory in CBFL’s history at 1.28 points. This battle was close going into MNF. LaDainian Tomlinson had a very un-LT-like game scoring only 12.40 points, but TriDubs MNF combo of Higgins, Phillips, and Jammer let him down only scoring a combined 16.28 to leave him just short. Pron was led by a huge game from TE John Carlson with 6 for 95 and 2 TDs. WWW was led by Tony Romo and Tim Hightower who both scored 30+, but lack of WR scoring (18.24 total) really hurt.
Game Ball: Tim Hightower – 34.40

nice work... clap.gif

I was forced to stay up until 1:00am to see who won my game...for a few seconds I thought his guy might have picked off the hail mary at the end...insane way to start the season...

I didn't quite make it. After Seymours 2 sacks in the 1st half I was sure I would lose.

My lineup efficiency was 60%. I'll need a lot more this week vs M&M.

Nice job Playa. clap.gif

Wow I still have the individual record

Individual Offensive Scoring: RB Reggie Bush, Huskies - 2006 Week 13 - 55.30 pts

Nice parity we have. Every year we have different superbowl winners and losers.

This is the week I already penciled in a "W" in the win column. wink.gif Easy victory for YGD. I held my team back last week like the Cardinals did to start out slow and then sneak up on people again.
