MFL has the Statistic Changes available for commissioners---usually happens by Friday. Do we apply those changes or is it up to each owner to calculate any changes made and notify the commishes?
Zooty
Hopefully Bonehand will chime in here but

I don't remember ever running the changes before (not that we shouldn't)

I checked the rules and there are no concessions for either rerunning to correct MFL/NFL updates or to address owner requests.

Probably a rule change is in order since these seems to be the way most leagues are going. (check new pinned thread)

Would this change the outcome of your game?
Bonehand
We probably should, as those are corrections to the actual scoring. It can be set to run automatically. Shall I set it?
Dbaxx
It does effect one of my players (Rolle), but that's not why I posted--I just found that application on MFL last year, midway thru the season and it got me to thinking that there are games that are decided by a few points throughout the season that could effect the final outcome for playoff positions. So to keep the league fair and it's readily available (and easy to use) by MFL, why not use it. In my local, owners are responsible for making sure their scores are legit and they are final after the next game starts...but how tedious is that to look through all the players stats and double check them when it's a click away? Just my thoughts---it's available to us, why not use it.
PlayaHata
I think we should just put it to a league-wide vote and implement immediately. It would suck to lose a game due to a score correction, but such is life. I do think it's important to have a cut-off time though. All games are FINAL as of Friday midnight or something to that effect.

My vote would be yes.
Dbaxx
I vote Yes as well

Friday cut off but later in the season you have Thursday games.

I don't like the fact of someone winning or losing after they though they lost or won, but what's fair is fair. I agree with cutoff but earlier.

Mr Ted, I agree with you on the fact it sucks that you thought you won or lost a game and you didn't win or lose, but IF the stats were in fact true from the get-go, that's what the outcome really was.

Bone--Yes you can set that to Automatically change stats as commissioner. A good idea would be posting the changes for players like I have above so teams know what changes have occurred.

I'm for it. With those points from Andrian Wilson it would have been a close game with M&M.

I agree, that is what I said. It sucks but it should be done. We def. need a cut off though no?

It needs to be done, as there is no point in even having a league with inaccurate scoring.

Unforunately though, there will be no definitive cut off. I simply check a box, and MFL updates it when they update it. It's not a situation Zooty and I will actively manage, nor should we. That's why we pay MFL $70 a year.

I agree with this, we should put it to a vote now and implement ASAP if it passes.

I was looking at the stat changes posted by Dbaxx and although some of the changes were very small, there were a couple that were fairly significant (+ or -) such as......

1) Phillip Merling lost 7 points.
2) Antrel Rolle lost 7 points.
3) Brian Hartline credited with 5 unearned points.

Considering that some of our games are decided by a range of 1 - 10 points at times, this needs to be fixed.

Let's vote.

Respectfully, I don't see how the accuracy of league scoring is a voting issue.

What are we going to do, just have bad stats if enough owners vote against it?

That's would not be an acceptable situation, nor should it even be open for debate. I plan on flipping the switch as soon as I hear back from Zooty regarding a nuts and bolts question. smash.gif

This is why I am going to win every game this season by +50 so I dont have to worry.

moon.gif

MFL should have a cut off, i mean what if a stat correction occurs in week 13 for week 10 game and ruin someones playoff run or something. VERY unlikely scenario but we have run into alot of wierd sheet. I hope MFL has some sort of cut off if not fook it.
Dbaxx
Antel Rolle's points added 7 points to my score--

2 pts for 1 tackle
3 pts for 1 sack
2 pts for 1 forced fumble

Final Score: Dbaxx 177.28 to PlayaHata's 183.34.

It sounds like they do have a cutoff, Wed. AM, from Zooty's experience in 2 leagues.

OK, so here’s the scoop. There is literally nothing in the CBFL rulebook that addresses the league scoring with regards to MFL.
As such, the Statistical Recalc Issue (or SRI) falls under the auspices of rule 1.12. (or one-twelve)

We have flipped the recalc switch on a trial basis, which will automatically correct each week going forward. It is Zooty's experience from 2 leagues that MFL recalcs occur on Wed AM. If it appears that they aren't occuring within a timely manner, then we will reassess.

Additionally, Zooty and I will be adding a section to the rules during the coming offseason to address this and other scoring issues, in an effort to ensure clarity going forward. This process will be open to league input, discussion and review before finalization.

Sound good? Thanks to all for the discussion. Good to see things livening up!

Wait til Dbaxx's Den tomorrow---that will liven these Bastages up...

I was basing what I said off our league policy of not making any chages to scoring, rules or bylaws, during the season without putting it to a league wide vote. Is this incorrect?

If someone could please check the 49ers game and the Titans game for me, I need to find out if they mistakenly gave Frank Gore and Chris Johnson long TD runs...

TIA

It looks like the statistic changes come out Thursday a.m.
