coach.gif What Up, Bastages?
It is great to be back, basking in the warm, televised glow of the NFL! And despite the fact that the football gods are fickle, it’s great to know that there is always a bright side. For instance, as I was getting summarily crushed in 2 FF leagues opening weekend, I could still survey the beating my Seahawks were laying on the hated Rams from my lofty perch at Qwest field, and it was all good. And even last week following repeat crushings, and Hawks hickory-smoking by the Niners, I could still fall back on…The Washington Huskies? Crap, have I really fallen that far?

But enough of my whining. Without further ado, It's time for the:

WEEK 2 RECAP!

W: Diggin 210.28 L: Hand of Bone 159.88
The Hand was hapless once more, as they got pimp slapped by the noob Sugar Smacks frog, thanks to a box score with so many small digits it could be confused for a ruler. The Diggin crew on the other hand were seriously ballin’, with big games from QB Jay Cutler, RB Reggie Bush and a gameball worthy showing from RB Darren Sproles with 37.62 pts in the win.

W: Playa Hatas 252.60 L: The Pron Stars 190.22
The reigning Champ continued his rampant domination this week, violating the Pron Stars with a week high 91.2% efficiency rating, a big performance from RB Frank Gore, and an all time scoring record from RB Chris Johnson. Fortunately, Pron Stars are used to being violated by huge Johnson efforts, so AG was able to take it standing up. Top scorers for Pron were QB Matt Ryan and WR Andre Johnson, while Johnson’s record-shattering day on behalf of the Hatas garners Bastage of the Week honors.

W: Youre Going Down 229.24 L: Dbaxx 191.22
Dbaxx was left wishing he had played Pron instead this week in a would-have-been game for the ages, instead getting routed by a YGD squad resplendent with double digit scoring. YGD was led by game-breaking performances from TE Dallas Clark and QB Phillip Rivers, while Dbaxx was no slouch with solid efforts from the Carolina duo of WR Steve Smith and RB DeAngelo Williams. A game ball goes to YGDallas.Clark with his 38.30 pts on the day.

W: Running Aces 235.34 L: Clucking Birds 205.12
These two long time playoff rivals squared off this week for the first of their annual grudge matches in a high scoring tilt, which slanted towards the Aces thanks to the aerial attack of QB Rogers, TE Daniels and the sneakily effective WR Vincent Jackson. The Birds meanwhile saw respectable showings from QB Kurt Warner, RB ADP and TE Kellen Winslow, but were ultimately let down by a lackluster defensive performance. While Bastages don’t believe in moral victories, CB can take some solace from in the game ball earned by Winslow’s 31.00 pts. The Aces alternately are content to remain unbeaten.

W: godtomsatan 221.54 L: WWWarriors210.14
In this week's acronym bowl, GTS managed to outlast WWW to climb to even on the season, behind the scoring leadership of QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Fred "only 2 weeks until Marshawn" Jackson, the other WR Steve Smith, and TE Methuseleh Gonzales. Trip did field a respectable lineup however, and snatches the game ball from gts's grasping fingers thanks to a 31 pt day from WR Mario Manningham.

And finally:

THE BASTAGE GAME OF THE WEEK!

W: M & M 191.18 L: Huskies 186.02

M&M continued his red hot start to remain unbeaten this week, thanks to solid work from QB Brees, TE Cooley and WR DeSean Jackson. The HUSKIES were led by a strong day from the defense, and the high flying handiwork of WR Marques Colston, but were ultimately undone by the goosegg from TE Bo Scaife, in a lineup faux-paux that would have reversed the game's outcome had Packer fan Randall seen fit to instead start GB TE Finley. What was I saying earlier about the football gods being fickle…? To add insult to injury, M&M's Brees edges out Colston for the game ball with 30.44 on the scoreboard.

Bastage of the Week: RB Chris Johnson, Playa Hatas, 61.50 pts
Rat Bastage of the week: TE Bo Scaife, HUSKIES, 0 pts
