Davis, Andra DEN LB 49.05 7 0 RFA was picked up on 9/23 FA run and shows no contract as of yet. Not sure if he listed a contract in the comments section of the FA pickup or not, but I noticed he was in his lineup this week.

I don't see a thread listing a contract here either shrug.gif

No contract was listed, not sure what should happen if anything if there was an oversight. Hate to call out the commish, but........
Tford
Randall, do you have a PM or something that states what Swiss wanted for contract?

Nothing in the waiver comments or the thread.
Tford
Looks like this was just a mixup with PMs and Davis should be a 1 year deal from what I got

Probably a bigger deal if Davis affected that outcome of Jake's game this week but since he did not and Jake is having to deal with extended limited access, I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I agree totally, it didn't affect either game or give him a high week. Just thought he should be given a contract to avoid any potential issues
Tford
I guess Davis wasn't issued a contract after all after getting a message from Jake. shrug.gif

To be consistent with the rules, Davis will be dropped and the points scored by him for Swiss will be removed.

Maybe we could discuss this rule in the off-season as I wouldn't mind seeing it changed to something like giving the player a default contract of 1 year if no contract is assigned in the allotted time. I don't really like the idea of returning players to the FA pool once they have been bid on and won. It exposes the "market rate" for a player giving teams who lost out a second chance to acquire them, plus for guys like Swiss and others who may have limited access and are doing their best to be active and put forth a good management effort it would give them a bit of a buffer.

I have no problem discussing any rule change as long as we get good representation from the league and not just 4-5 teams. I totally understand Jakes situation and clap.gif his efforts United_States.gif I only wish we could get the entire league involved in trades and trade talk instead of just the same few teams. I mean I end up with Chike Okeafor again and Omar Gaither laughing.gif

I could go for this too, having 1 year be the default if no contract is stated with in something like 24 hours.

Does Jake lose out on the money spent?

I'm probably going to refund his money. As per the rulebook:

CODE
4.1.3 FA Bid Process
The FA weekly process will be conducted in a *blind auction* manner. AOTAOP Dollars are used to bid on free agents. The minimum FA bid is 1 AOTAOP Dollar. Teams may only bid up to the amount of AOTAOP Dollars they have available. Bids must be in whole number increments. If the maximum total of all possible bids exceeds the team’s AOTAOP dollar balance, transactions will be nullified from last to first until the limit is met. Bids for FA's must be submitted via e-mail to the official league account. (aotaopmail@gmail.com) Bids received by any other means will be rejected.

[b]During the season, blind bids will be conducted on the MFL league site. This will be blind bid and bids will not go through if the contract years are not listed in the comments section of the bid request.[/b]

List blind bids according to preference. 1.....2....3.... etc.

List players to be dropped at the same time if you wish to drop someone.

If you are over the 43 man limit bid will not be processed so be careful.

List round 2 and round 3 in like manner of you want more than one player.

Commissioners cannot submit bids after midnight tues night and bids will be automatically processed at 8PM eastern wednesday.

During the season the team with highest bid will acquire player(obviously)

This seems to me like it is a rejected bid. Granted we don't follow the rule to the letter of the law as bids that don't include years are still processed and years are added after, I'm considering this a rejected bid as stated in bold. Therefore, Jake should get his money back IMO.

Thanks for taking care of this, Tford. Not sure how I missed the contract assignment, but this is exactly the correction that needed to be made. If Davis wasn't able to be bid on this week, he's certainly fair game next time around.

I think this needs to be voted on for sure, in or out of season.

As for Davis, the system locks dropped players as it is currently set up. If this isn't consistent within the rules, I can have it changed.
