When a rookie is picked up from WW or FCFS FA's, and it's his first time to be on a roster, does he get the "rookie bump" of 3 rounds for his "keeper value", like the draft?

A WW or FCFS FA gets the automatic "keeper value" of "10". No problems there. But, if that player is also a rookie, does his "keeper value" become a "13"?

Thanks!

I vote NO. (especially if YOU are picking up the rookie, Pachyderm)

I knew I had to go high once Braylon was traded. smile.gif

I think in the interests of keeping things simple, once the draft is over, the +3 rule should not apply.

I honestly agree with both points w00t.gif

I assume we are going to use 10 for all FA's even though we may go beyond 10 for the draft?

I see one commish saying "no". Where's the other commish on this?

If Ursa wants a vote, then I'll take the other comments into consideration.

Thanks!

My instinct tells me No, but I'll go and consult the rules.

I believe this applies from Rule 4.1:

QUOTE
Any player added through free agency that was not drafted (and therefore has no initial draft round cost) will be assigned an initial cost of Round 10.

It clearly says player, not differentiating between rookies and vets for FA and specifies a value of 10. Once the draft is over, the rookie bump isn't applied.
