Its hard to blackball a guy who is ready and willing to trade his franchise player in week 5 of season 1.

He's the one that made the offer. And for the record I dont have a problem with taking a better trade, I just would like to be kept in the loop.

Actually, I wasn't implying that as I didn't know your involvement. I was just saying how Randall has screwed over a few people, but apparently compensated by accepting some really bad trades.

No it's BS, the guys a POS. you don't offer a trade, then the accepting team posts it, then you trade with someone else.

I agree that it is garbage and not something I want to see in this league. FWIW, the point of posting your acceptance of the trade in this forum is twofold:

1) It is entirely possible to click the wrong button on accident.
2) It is entirely possible that someone with commissioner access could make unauthorized movesin MFL.

The first scenario is the main reason this rule is in existence. I would guess people would notice if someone else was proposing or accepting trades on their behalf.

ETA - I thought of a third reason... If you offer a trade, it sits there for a while, then one of the involved players in the trade gets hurt in practice or something and the other guy accepts the trade before you can revoke it. Unllikely, but possible.

None of these reasons hold weight. The third is the fault of the offerer for not setting a trade deadline on the trade, and the first two can be avoided by the team coming to the boards (very shortly after the acceptance) and saying wait, thats wasnt my intention.

I dont like the fact that he reneged, but I also dont like the fact that the deal was bogus imo. I dont even think Randell knew wallance was a backup once again.

I've sent a message to Randall addressing his breaches in etiquette, letting him know exactly what he'd done and why in general it's inappropriate (at least in my eyes)

I'm awaiting a response to that email before I finalize his trade.

I appreciate your efforts, but seriously, he didn't break the rules. It might be annoying, but that is all it is.

In another league (Too Many Leagues), I had negotiated a trade with someone via PM. He PMed me a final offer (yes, the trade was his idea), I accepted, then sent an MFL offer and he rejected it. The other party has been in FF longer than me.

So, with all due respect, this isn't just Randall and if it's within the rules, then we need to accept it or change the rules.

(I know Fing wasn't complaining at all, I just took the opportunity to have some fun with him. So, I'm just sayin'.)

I usually agree with Opie and do here. I dont have a problem with the way Mucca feels either, and the commish stepping in and talking to Randell was the best move.

I won't trade with Randall, in part, cuz it's not worth the league backlash. After my last trade, many were up-in-arms about it.

Randall has no sense of fair value, yet -- he'll get there. (He offered me his entire 2010 draft for Rivers, Forte, and Bowe.) Give him time. Heck, I'm new to dynasty, so values to me are also new.

I think most of us are here because fantasy football (Albeit often frustrating) is fun for us. At least let me say, that's why I am here.

If someone is rude or generally inappropriate at work, or on the train, or on the playground when I'm there with my kids, I'm going to say something, that's just the kind of guy I am. In all of those cases, no laws are being broken, there is no crime and thus there is no punishment, but there is an opportunity to help someone understand what they just said/did was stupid.

The same is true here, if you were doing something that other owners were getting upset by, and essentially resulting in other owners not transacting with you, I think you'd want someone to bring that to your attention. That's all I'm looking to do here

Just as Randall is clearly new to dynasty fantasy football and understanding player values, I'd argue he's just as new to online FF and the etiquette that comes with it (whether followed or not), whether it's a rule or not is irrelevant to me, sometimes the right thing to do is just to give a guy a nudge and let him know the downstream implications of decisions he's making now about how he handles himself with his fellow owners in the league.

Usually this thread would be enough and I wouldn't do anything, but in this case Randall doesn't seem too active here, so I think an email is appropriate.

if he fills that this is fair play or not. Like Wash said, he's not very active, so what are his true motives.
I too am here to have fun, but one bad owner can ruin it. Now if it is because he's not sure what he is doing, thats
one thing, but if this is his normal strategy, that a whole different story.

If that's his standard operating procedure, it won't be long before he's blacklisted by everyone. I agree with your concern about league integrity, but so far, it hasn't been that horrible. At least in this case, he broke "etiquette", but did improve the trade value, which was absolutely horrible with Fing. (to re-iterate, Randall made the offer to Fing)

Well, If I have any say in the matter please approve the trade between Relish and Randall. As much as I would like to have Johnson it is not worth it to me to be involved in any tension in this league, and Relish made him a better offer plain and simple. It is my fault for assuming that a trade with him would be uneventful.
I only posted the trade in the fourm because I was under the impression that Randall was a go, and MFL was down for both of us and wanted the commish to process our trade.

I was actually thinking about issues with getting a lineup submitted.

In another league, I tried to pickup a WR to fill in for Sims-Walker about 30 minutes before game start and there was an error (not browser related). I would've lost anyway, but it was still a little annoying.

I had an email exchange with Randall, who is more clear on proper etiquette now, and rightfully was interested in making the best deal for his team.

Let's all move on to the next important topic of debate. Who will take longer to get a win...Me or Opie...

if this is the case , then wouldn't you want to contact all the teams in the league and let them know AJ is available? I am sure I , and many other would have offered more. But , again , I would have trepidation with making a trade with Randall , unless it was like Fings!
